Maybe. There are teams that are said to be interested, but the Lakers seem pretty adamant that they will match any offer.

If teams decide not to waste their time, then the Lakers could likely get him for around that amount.

But, if someone decides to "call their bluff", it could go up a good bit.

That's the number if the Lakers match for the first 2 years, per the Arenas rule. 3rd and 4th years will balloon up to match the total value of the contract offer. If he gets the max 98M/4 years offer, the years would be 12/12/37/37

They have 12-13 roster spots filled (Nix non-guaranteed) and about $65M in space, so moves would definitely need to be made.

The fact that it isn't clear means that's an overpay.

It's also a definite overpay for FVV, but that's strategy to sign him away from the Raptors. There's no real competition to sign Harden.
