I got around to read the article on the Wolves trying to trade for Monte Morris or Delon Wright, and it contains what I think is the greatest line in a sports article ever.

Lets take a live look into the Wolves attempts to get a back up PG

Cleveland already ripped the band aid off when they made the DeShawn Watson move.
Not the most important position in my favorite sport but I'd be all for adding a good player at a position of need who may not have done anything wrong to the Cavs, too.

Hey, @shopson67 @DJ

Remember last summer when we were debating who was better between Walker and Bruce Brown?

Guess the Lakers agree with me…..

Same money.

Brown definitely would have made a difference.

I don't know that the Lakers will actually get that done. Still think he could take the 1 year deal to return to Denver.

If you look at offensive stats, there's not a ton of difference. Defense (and positional versatility) is the edge though.

Walker: 11.7/1.9/1.1 on 44.8/36.5/85.8 shooting (numbers hurt a bit by losing his minutes to Beasley at the trade deadline)

Brown: 11.5/4.1/3.4 on 48.3/35.8/75.8 shooting

Brown had the better playoff run and recency bias has him a favorite of late, but I think he's on the verge of being overvalued a bit right now. That said, I doubt Walker is retained regardless, but has certainly raised his value vs this time last year.

Smart

Not sure how they do it, but smart

Targets I'd suggest for the Lakers as well, but I don't see an easy path there either, unless the Wizards would take Bamba's contract plus 2nds.

Reasonable replacement for DLo from a penny-pincher perspective if they want to ensure space under the hard cap...?

I think the only thing I have left to hope for is that James Harden’s pen is out of ink when he goes to sign this god forsaken contract and no one else in the room has a spare pen.

can't wait to read about the teacher going to prison for stealing a felonious amount of office supplies from the sixers front office...

I mean i would guess he gets the taxpayer MLE.

Lakers could maybe fit him into the Bi-Annual as a close match to that.

I am kinda wondering what their targets are right now, with two new rookies in tow and Christie set for increased minutes. Not that you want to rely on them heavily, but you also don't want to bury them on the depth chart under FA signings. The one spot the Lakers DEFINITELY need is a center, especially if they don't bring Bamba back (and even if they do, a big-bodied throwback center as depth is needed). Castleton as a 2-way player can only help so much unless you convert him to the active roster later, as he would be ineligible for the playoffs otherwise.

I like using BAE for centers. You can get your pick of those backups. Plus they won't be on the court as much in the playoffs as we go to the short people garbage ball more often

Tobias Harris is at 39 mil this coming season and Lavine is at 40 mil. Ben Simmons at 37 mil

He is better than at least 2 of those 3. 41 per year on a 2 year deal for a bad team trying to get back to winning ways is fine

Short term deal it's not terrible, especially for a franchise that needs to spend some cap.

I can agree with maybe a little over rated, but Brown is in year 3 of playing like this, Walker season is a little bit of an outlier. So the consistency matters as well on this. Add in the defense and positional flexibility you mentioned and Brown is the clear better choice at the moment. Walker is a fantastic gamble for a team right now, if this year is him starting to put it all together and not an outlier he could end up being a better value, if not necessarily a better player.

I agree, just don't think the gap is quite as big as may be expected.

Ok.

But, Reaves is getting more than 12.

Reaves is limited to 12 for the first 2 seasons if the Lakers match, with seasons 3 and 4 ballooning up depending on the offer they have to match. It's part of the Arenas rule.

Floor spacing centers being the outliers

Also need to factor in team needs, if your team is set on offense and needs a guy to play within it Brown is an easy choice. Walker needs his shots to be effective.
