Yeah, it’s all subjective.

I would have thought the Gryphon * what’s more magical than a Unicorn or Pegasus* would have been #1 too.

That part really isn’t subjective though.

None of those superstars getting traded, so it is moot.

But if Jokic or Giannis wanted to be traded, there is a price that would make sense.

There is no price that makes sense to trade Wemby.

OK, I'll do the same. "I can't note any specifics, but there is some interesting stuff going to happen on Friday." Whee, now I am a "reporter" too!

Of course he's a reporter, but that broad statement he made is a truism that holds no weight whatsoever.
It was like Seinfeld.....a rumor about nothing.

It’s likely crazy talk but had local radio on earlier and that were discussing a Lillard to the Bucks for Holiday trade as if it really could happen.
That’s gotta be a three way deal though. Why would Portland do a rebuild around an aging guard? Really doesn’t make a ton of sense to me.

He's doing a great job. Likely hearing some stuff in the early stages so dont want to put a name on it yet which is good reporting
So he reported on nothing. Maybe wait until he has a name? Not that FOs give out names of guys in deals without knowing they'll be moving.

Rather than jumping the gun like some and being wrong.
Yep...but even when that happens there isn't much accountability for it. Have you really not noticed that many of the big deals are those we didn't see coming?

@fightinfunbags are the 6ers willing?

The Houston Rockets are believed to be “out of the running” when it comes to 2023 NBA free agency negotiations with Philadelphia 76ers superstar James Harden, reports Kelly Iko of The Athletic. “In recent days, I’ve understood that Houston is no longer an option for James,” Iko said in a Twitter live stream on Wednesday. “I would call them out of the running,” Iko added. “James was never interested in taking some kind of discount two years in a row. He made, what, $34-35 million this year? He could stand to make 50 to 52 (million). He was not going to take a discount, and the Rockets were never going to pay him that kind of max money.”

So let me get this straight…
1. Morey is competing vs <checks notes> Fucking no one for the services of James Harden
2. Morey is about to give Harden 2 years at 100-104 million or 3 years at 150-156 million dollars

That makes a ton of sense. Hold on let me grab something before they go in on me.

Those guys put themselves out there for the world to judge every day. In my opinion he is one of the best in the business.

I do happen to like the guy but the fact remains this was a report about nothing. Usually when they report names and are wrong (which is most of the time) there is no accountability. He did it one better this time as he didn't even report any names so no need to be held accountable. Hell, he can even say he was right if the cavs make move that moves the needle.

Not at all. If he actually reports something, I don't doubt him. He "reported" absolutely nothing more than a generic "weird things might happen" and it has everyone trying to figure out what he's talking about.

I mean, you are sounding like me here but this "report" was worse than others that don't come true for the reasons you gave.

So, say the Blazers landed the #1 pick and were dumb enough to believe they were 1 Guy away from winning it all.

Greek Freak for Wemby makes no sense?

Or, how’s about this was 3 years ago and the Dubs ended up with #1.

You telling me Giannis for that pick doesn’t make sense?

Yes, both unlikely ridiculous scenarios.

Wemby wasn’t eligible for the Dubs and Portland isn’t a player away.

But, if either was?

There is always a price.

* Yes, I’m arguing just to argue because I’m bored *

This is exactly why you cant take some of these sites seriously.

In a rush to be first, they just put out anything, and everything….

Even when it contradicts it’s own reporting.

I'd say first rumor is true and second is false. I'm guessing the cavs are open to trading anyone. Mobley might be untouchable with anything realistic....meaning, sure, if SA calls and offers Wemby and Vassel and/or Johnson (and whatever to make salaries work) I'm sure Mobley is gone.

Windy is also wrong in a sense IMO....someone makes an offer we cannot refuse either could be gone. reason he wont be wrong is because it's highly unlikely either gets moved IMO.

Giannis for the #1 pick 3 years ago?

All day.

Giannis for Wemby?

Would be a really lopsided deal.

Milwaukee would have to add. And if they didn’t?

Sometimes teams make stupid, lopsided trades. Minnesota gave up 4 1s for a bad contract.

And since Giannis makes 4x as much, it is nearly impossible to structure a trade like that that makes sense.

We are talking about trade value here, not about whether a team in a very specific situation would be stupid enough to give away that much trade value.

My guy, I’m bored.

So, I’m just arguing to argue…lol

I agree.
