I think it is due to production (numbers were down from 2021) and lacking the elite top end speed. Simms is trying to be different — can’t fault him for being a follower. I do prefer Wilson over Anderson, but I wouldn’t put him at 5.
Agreed. I was even moving Wilson ahead of Anderson as well. But to rank him this low? Seems nuts

I certainly wouldn't put him behind a 24 year old prospect (McDonald). Nolan Smith doesn't have a lot of production either. Peculiar. #2 I can see if you really like Wilson (but he has his detractors too).

I think he belongs in the Wilson-Murphy tier. Not 3rd tier. At worst, he's the #3 DE.

You guys should stop talking about Simms. He's a wannabe Skip Bayless. This is the same guy who thought Hurts couldn't win in the NFL. A lot of people had doubts, sure. But Simms was saying this midway through last year, well after Hurts had kind of proven otherwise to anyone with eyes.

That said, DE means a lot of things. Will Anderson is basically a pass rushing OLB. He is not and never will be a bookend 4-3 DE. He has to be judged differently. He's the top outside pass rusher in this draft IMO based on his production, but he will need to be used the right way to showcase that.

A guy like Wilson is a totally different position almost. He is a 4-3 bookend DE who can potentially move inside on 3rd and long.

I'd be shocked if Anderson is not the first outside pass rusher selected in this draft.

Not too surprising. I figure he is on the Chiefs radar with the same fit. All pro potential athlete. Just have to coach him up
I saw a mock draft some time back where they had the Eagles taking Adebawore with their 30th pick. If he's still on the board one more spot down, I can definitely see the Chiefs scooping him up.

My early guess is:

Top 5: Will Anderson
Top 10: Tyree Wilson
Top 20: Myles Murphy, Luke Van Ness
Top 50: Keion White, Anudike-Uzomah, Nolan Smith, Ojulari, Zach Harrison, McDonald
RD2-3: Carter, Foskey

There are quite a few teams at the top of the draft that need edge rushers. I think some of those teams will wait until rd2 and pick from that pool. That said, Im seeing 4-10 possibly going rd1 and since we're talking a valuable position its probably closer to 10 than 4. Harrison certainly could blow up the combine and get into rd1
Pick 46. Good job!
