My bad....I helped hijack this thread again. I'll take these comments to a more fitting thread if anything else to say about them.

Only 1 day off this time. Pretty sure the only time in the Finals. I don't think it will have much affect with no travel.

So you are just as biased being from Cleveland then as well, there is a valid case that Kareem and Magic were better than Lebron as well. My hatred for Lebron has nothing to do with his ranking, I despise Tom Brady too but acknowledge he is the GOAT qb.
I have extreme biased bc most have them 1 and 2 LOL. YOu are in the minority here.

Again, you are in the minority if you think Kareem and Magic are better. It sounds like it has everything to do with ranking

Since the game happened I'll limit my comments on this topic but will say what also happens if they don't succeed is they get exposed, which Phillip was smart not to chance.

Not really.

No coach can succeed without talent.

See the Spurs for proof of that. Spoelstra has had down years too.

Just because Phil never coached a bad team is not a reason to create a knock against him. He won at unprecedented rates in the modern NBA with 2 star studded franchises.

Don’t forget that the year with Pete Myers as his starting SG he almost got the Bulls to the Finals!

I honestly don’t believe there is a legit case for Magic above LeBron.

LeBron is the bigger, faster, stronger better scoring version.

Fair point. But it's true and for my criteria I've made it clear I'd like to see a guy who will take up a challenge and do more with less. That's just not Phillip. Think if he were in Pop's situation he'd have hung around?

He wasn’t, so we won’t ever know.

Think Pop hangs around in San Antonio if his GM is publicly talking about how he is ready to move on and hire a new coach?

These guys have egos. Phil was blatantly disrespected. Very few people would stay after that.

Previous year kobe and Odom missed 15 or so games each (as opposed to 2 in Jackson's first season). Hard to say it's "less" with arguably the best player in the sport. Not like he had a great season and went deep in playoffs. Won 45 and bounced in round 1. Worse the next season with only 40 wins, also bounced round 1 (Odom did miss around 15 games that year).
It’s less because even with the best player in the game at the time, he still managed to take a team of D-leaguers to the playoffs and took the Suns to 7 games. That team had no business even making the playoffs and yet Phil did it twice. That’s the exact definition of doing more with less.

For all the credit Spoles is getting, this Miami Heat team is a lot better than those Lakers team back in the day even with peak Kobe.

Comparing Magic to LeBron is a joke at this point, lol.

People just like to hold on to the past.

agree with that first part.

Krause also said he would bring him back....but a fair opinion he would not come back no matter what. I disagree. I also think he'd have been out in Pop's situation. You?

I have no way of knowing. However, he didn't bail when Jordan retired the first time.

Different eras. If Magic had not happened, does Lebron play PG? Does he even play basketball? Who knows.

I need a poor shooting night from Murray tomorrow like he did Game 2 against the Suns. If that happens I like our chances tomorrow

The one day in between slightly favors Miami. It allows them to get right back on the court to redeem themselves after a bad game...

Christian Braun appeared to taunt the Miami crowd after that dunk last night... Loving this kid's swag more and more. Hope this means he's earned more minutes the rest of the series (two games).

I have now seen jocik play 2 xs

Incredible soft shot that cannot be blocked , a big doofus that has such a soft touch

Uses his body to perfection on the court

Does anybody guard this guy?

He’s able to make a 2 handed pass from waste with no obstruction.

Gets every call under the sun

Shadow the big Bastit for gauds sake

Ain’t like he’s the freekin roadrunner

Had Oladipo been healthy, I think he’d do a pretty good job of containing Murray and having Jimmy focus more on offense without being fatigued.

Murray’s the head of the snake. We need to find a way to contain him.

Isn't Jokic kind of the head and a lot of the body of the snake?
