And to think Mark Cuban told Kyrie and Luka to rest the final week of the season to make sure they missed the playoffs because he saw they were about to be a play-in team

To be fair, no way in hell that Luka/Kyrie/Kidd team gonna do this come on lol

They knew it too

I guess but still crazy to do. They could have possibly beat Memphis at least

I think the biggest reason why they rested was because they did not want to lose their lottery pick. I think that if they were able to keep a non-lottery pick, they may have just rolled the dice and saw if they won. However, if it was no pick versus a lottery pick, it was too tempting.

I know it’s weird for me a quote myself, but on the same subject, I don’t feel like it makes any sense that one would have an arrangement that if you trade a player for a pick and they’re in the lottery, you get a second round pick, but if they’re not in a lottery, you get the first round pick. It should be two seconds or one first. I understand the second round pick will be pretty high in the second round, but still.

Injuries notwithstanding, clear underdogs usually get obliterated in the Finals.

But the Heat are an interesting animal. They're a huge UD only because of seed, and inury, but If Herro comes back, they have the team that was basically a #1 seed last year.

And HCA is basically a joke these days.

And it's not like Nuggets are exactly the 96 Chicago Bulls.

I'd like to see the Heat as a bigger UD money line wise

I still pick the Nuggets as of now, but if they can steal one game in Denver and Herro comes back, it’ll be interesting. I don’t follow the heat enough to know what happens to Butler when Herro comes back. There may not be any conflict there as far as who does what, but if one person on a team does a lot, adding another person can sometimes change roles slightly.

Nuggets in NBA finals and odds on favorites to win the whole thing
And yet they still do not have a TV contract with Comcast
That wouldn’t be tolerated in other NBA cities but hey this is Denver
When the going gets tough their fans disappear like farts in the wind
They pop up wearing other teams colors
Two MVP's and one ring... Coming soon.

Feels like Nuggets in 5 or maybe 6 in one of those series that somehow goes 6 games yet never really felt close or in question. Miami better leave that zone in Boston though. Jokic can bust that down without breaking one drop of sweat.

Rooting for Miami though because of Jimmy Butler. Been a fan of his since Chicago and have spent years saying all of those teams that let him walk out the door are fools.

Maybe Jimmy just didn't like the cold weather in those 3 previous cities he played for....and just wanted out?

Maybe. But none of those teams really fought hard to keep him either.

He literally demanded a trade from Minnesota. Won't argue that his Miami days solidified his HOF case but back in the day he was a pure problem child.

Nuggets are going to win this series, but it won’t be easy.

We'll see. Altitude has some crazy effects on teams. Nuggets are focused (and rusty?) but the Heat are battle tested. Hope it's a good series but I'll stick with my prediction. Nuggs in 5.
Hey welcome to the NBA board you just discovered when the team gets to the NBA Finals.
