The AFC got a lot better but a couple teams who could take a major step back are Buffalo and Tennessee.....both could *gasp* miss the playoffs.

Not saying they will but they could.....Daboll is gone and Allen showed progress under his tutelage. And Tanneyhill lost AJ Brown and his comments over not mentoring Willis indicate he's not a real leader.

Tua is going to have a good year IMO.

They will run the ball, work the clock, and throw to Hill and Waddle and let them make plays YAC. Lots of signal callers who haven't had great arms but are good because they have playmakers.
Miami will have to beat people over the top to make the playoffs. I dont think anyone is going to 'Alex Smith' their way into the AFC playoffs this year. The weak spot on a few AFC teams might end up being their secondary.

Interested to see if Buffalo takes a step back after losing Daboll.

They promoted from within, so much of the same system is likely in place. They will experiment with more varied offensive groupings though, since they drafted Cook (who can run legitimate routes as a RB or split out) and signed OJ Howard to add to Dawson Knox, giving them the option of two TE alignments. A lot of flexibility to confuse defenses. Usually bringing in two TEs implies a run, but not necessarily with those two. They could bring in two RBs and go empty, they can be very multiple.

Buffalo is NOT taking a major step back. Daboll is gone, but their QB coach Dorsey as promoted, who worked underneath Daboll for 3 years. Josh is very familiar and comfortable with him. Daboll wanted to bring him along to the Giants as OC.

I'll be interested to see how Daboll handles being head coach. He was the OC up in the box, not on the field. He's going to be out of his element a bit.

I can't say Buffalo took a step back. They are still one of the best of the best in the AFC imo.

TEN will get a healthy Henry but it's really the same old story with them. Defense and running game. They lose AJ Brown and gain a rookie, that passing offense isn't improving and Henry is a year older. A possible playoff team that has a ceiling.

A little different between being a QB coach and an OC....Dorsey could be another Kellen Moore and he's no great OC.

JARVIS LANDRYWR, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT
Landry

ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reports free agent Jarvis Landry wants $20 million per year.

The Browns released Landry earlier this month after teams weren't willing to trade for his $14.3 million salary. Coming off an injury-shortened 2021 and entering his age-30 season, any chance of Landry getting a $20 million per year deal would have to be backloaded with no guaranteed money beyond this year. Landry, who changed agents this offseason, isn't a lock to get half of that but could fall somewhere in the middle. The Falcons, Saints, and Chiefs have all expressed interest in Landry. The Browns, who saved $15 million restructuring Amari Cooper's contract, haven't ruled out bringing Landry back.

Cole Beasley is still available.

He might be 33, but he had 82 catches last season. Gotta think he can still play.

Blackballed and I don't blame teams for doing it. There are plenty of guys who didn't get vaccinated who weren't complete pricks about it and he is relatively easy to replace.

The guy basically made a career picking up Dez and Diggs scraps. Lots of (younger) guys can do that.

He did more than just pick up scraps. He's a very good slot receiver, but may have lost a step.

The Ravens should be interested in OBJ....their WR's are pretty bad.

He has the Packers written all over him:

1) They just freed up money to spend with the new contract to Alexander.
1) A short area WR with a huge catch radius. Perfect guy for Rodger to throw those back shoulder, tight window throws to.
2) I don't like him. So he will make the perfect Packer.

They have the rookie deep threat Watson, Watkins, Cobb, and Lazarus. They don't need him.

Cobb is nothing but depth. Watson has not proved a lick. Lazard had one nice year opposite of Adams, gotta prove it. Watkins is injury-prone and no reliable. I still think he could stay with the Rams though.

He probably misses at least half the year if not more anyway.

Dude wore out his welcome in Dallas long before COVID. He just doesn't STFU and has an opinion on everything.
