They wanted him to take a pay cut to return, he asked for permission to seek a trade, and no other team wanted to trade for him at that number either. He alienated himself with a lot of the mafia due to his anti-vax stance last year. Still has a lot of game, and would make sense for the Browns or Packers as that slot guy that can be a QBs relief valve.

SF won't keep Jimmy another season. If they can't trade him, they'll cut him. He's making too much money to be a backup, and Lance will be the starter, whether he's ready or not.

I hate to see teams hold players back through the start of free agency and then release them into a deflating market. At least Wagner got a full FA market opportunity.
