And yet McDumbDumb goes and puts the tag on Jacobs during a rebuild. Tons of malpractice going on out in the desert.
Well, he wants to compete to save his job. Not the biggest fan of him but he has next year and that's probably it. He doesn't have time to add a bunch of unproven RB's and see if they can play.

They are going to run the ball and have Jimmy G spread the ball around to Adams, Meyers, Renfrow (if he is not traded, I hope not) and Hooper and Howard.

He needs to use most of the draft picks on defense and an OT.

The Raiders did not have a bunch of free agents they could have used the franchise tag on.

Getting rid of Jacobs would have been stupid. Then they'd have to replace him and couldn't build on what was successful last year.

The tag for RBs is small anyway and you get a year out of a top RB with zero future money tied to him.

Is he better than Corey Davis?
The weird thing is the Jets #1 is Wilson with or without OBJ. Then they also just signed Lazard and Hardman. I can only imagine this was a pre-Hardman rumor. They have Mims and Davis on the roster also for one to be the #4 if needed.

I had a post last year when I showed it but the whole "late round RB" is a myth. Virtually every good RB in the league today was drafted in the first 3 rounds of the draft.

There were some exceptions from last year class that were interesting. Pierce and Pacheco. But for the most part any decent RB in the league today was take in about the top 80 picks or so. Obviously a few exceptions'. But a lot fewer and further between than people would have you believe.

Sure, but the investment differential from 1st rounder to 2nd or 3rd is huge. It's almost like the QB rookie contract scenario (albeit a rung or two lower in salary); you get a smaller window to build around that player before they get more expensive then they are necessarily worth.

You could see teams more willing to draft RB (and WR) every 3rd-4th year to keep that cost (and injury risk) down, simply replacing rather than re-signing those early picks to big money. Obviously there will always be the top guys that get paid regardless.

Well fuck me right in the asshole if Zeke Elliott becomes an Eagle. This would be DeMarco Murray Part Deux.

Fake new I bet unless they plan on cutting/trading Davis (which is possible....he isnt worth the deal he is playing under any more and doesnt hardly anything to cut).

I cant imagine any team giving OBJ half of what he is reportedly asking for. It is 2023. He hasnt produced since 2019. That is an NFL lifetime.

My guess is we dont see him sign until after training camp once he realizes no one is going to give him much at all to play football anymore. And I wouldnt be entirely shocked if we never see him in the NFL again. Will he play on only a 1 year $5M deal? Because that really is the top anyone should be paying for him.

My Vikes are rumored to be looking into him. Going to be pissed if they waste real dollars on him.

I feel better. Zeke wants the Eagles. Doesn’t look like the Eagles want Zeke. I don’t blame him. Who wouldn’t want to run behind that OL.

You're right Cam... There's 64

Man, I had kinda forgotten about him. I never really cared for him generally speaking but I lost a lot of respect for him for how much of a baby he was during the SB and after the loss, staring at the fumble instead of diving on it, etc.

The rumor that he wanted $20M was dispelled

I want no part of washed Zeke Elliott in Philly. I have to hope that the reports he is considering Philly are just pipe dreams from him and his camp.
