Pretty strong signing by the 9ers.

PFF had him ranked just behind Donald for pass rushing grade the past two years and given that he's going from one strong defensive line unit to another there shouldn't be any significant change to his effectiveness.

The bonus is that you're weakening one of your biggest obstacles in the NFC in the process.
niners want to win now.
don't blame um

Quite honestly, the Eagles got his best and the Niners are picking up the tab. He’s gonna be 30. Maybe he ages well. History is not good when the Eagles turn the page and let a guy around 30 walk.

True the Eagles got his peak but DTs tend to age well so I don't see him falling off a massive cliff or anything like that because he turned 30 so he should be up there in terms of effectiveness even if it does start to slip a bit.

Justin Smith was 29 when he signed with the Niners, and he was an absolute stud until the day he retired 6 seasons later.

I don't know, he said "quite honestly".

Hargrave is a good player, but the Eagles could not afford that kind of money for him. That's going to happen. They basically need to find the next Hargrave, the next ascending guy they can sign to a moderately priced free agent contract or draft. It's obviously easier said than done, but when they sign Hurts to a long-term contract, it is going to have some ramifications.

Similar to when the Niners had to part ways with Buckner. Sometimes, keeping a particular player just isn’t in the cards. It isn’t good, but it isn’t apocalyptic either.

He was a special player. I was really hoping that the Vikings would get him at the time and they did try, but ended up trading for Jared Allen (who was very good in his own right).

McDaniels swapping out Carr for Jimmy G is the most McDaniels thing ever.

I guess I need to find a montage of all of the open players he missed in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs
I no big Carr fan, but he is way better than Jimmy G. I guess they went the cheaper route figuring neither was very good.

Didn’t get the best out of everyone though…
