Zack Greinke is going back to his roots. The free-agent righty has agreed to a one-year deal with the Royals, pending the completion of a physical, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports (via Twitter). Greinke, a client of Excel Sports Management, will be guaranteed $13MM and can earn another $2MM via innings-based incentives, tweets Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

worth mentioning that we are getting a shortened ST and a cramped full slate of regular season games. having platoon guys means we can rotate people in and out at DH and having off days.

Sometimes players like Siemeon nd Seger have infleuence on the younger guys making them better. Always a possibility.
