this wouldn't surprise me. i have wanted to believe that the Rangers were seriously in the mix for him but being honest with myself i have to recognize the Rangers were never serious about him
I think the Rangers might have been serious.
It could easily have been just a personal choice

probably right about it being a personal choice. when it comes to joining an organization, you want it to be an organization that you see as one that is moving forward toward being elite. even though the Rangers were able to entice Seagers and Semien here Suzuki probably didn't see the Rangers as a team working hard toward the future. plus the Japanese communities on the west coast

Now that Suzuki is likely gone, I wonder who might be on the Ranger radar

You can’t resist can you. Lol
nope sorry. it is the lack of activity by the Rangers that is irritating me. they obviously feel comfortable with where they are at and i have to be honest and say i don't share that opinion. i'm not wanting them to go out and sign multiple superstar FA's but i would think that they realize that going with Ibanez/Hernandez at 3rd and with the 2 Calhoun's in the outfield and the starting pitchers we have isn't going to paint a very pretty picture for 2022. i can think of 2 or 3 SP's in Cueto, Greinke etc who would be open to a 1 year deal and in the OF i can think of a couple there in 1-year deals starting with Pham. at 3rd base we could trade for Davis and i'm sure there are probably at least 2 free agents that are a 100X better than Holt or Culberson.

if i can see these options i hope the Rangers can too

we signed Perez for that
we need at least one more to complement Perez and Gray or we're going to have issues. go into the season with Dunning, Hearn and Allard, And Otto and Alexy we're going to have set pitch and inning limits or burn thru our prospects.

they're not bringing Folty back either way, and that is 100% the right move.

Just a THOUGHT: Would our pitching looked a little better last year if we had better offense? I think so. If so, we should produce more runs this year to support the rotation. If that happens and we add more pitching 2023 and another bat to the offense then we should improve toward contending.

We could have had Murderer's Row, and Spencer Howard would still be a bag of ass.
