I wanted to reboot this thread starting fresh. So much has changed with the impacts COVID had to this program in 2020, the changes to the coaching staff, and who the Huskies will be targeting for the 2022 class. There was no H.S. football season in Washington state in the fall of 2021 and that's caused a serious issue of being able to evaluate the development of local targets. At least it's plausible that we could have a normal spring practice this year and potentials for summer camps which are always a big part of final calls on who to pursue or move on from. Huskies have a lot to do this year is an understatement. They cannot afford another year of struggles with recruiting.

Anyway, new year and perfect time to reset things and get cracking on building out the class over the next 12 months.

As it stands right now, the Huskies have some nice pieces already in place committed to the class.

Germie Bernard - WR - Liberty H.S. - Henderson, NV
Chance Bogan - TE - Lincoln H.S. - Tacoma, WA
Anthony Jones - ATH - Henderson, NV
Sir Mells - DT - Henderson, NV

Two who had probably committed too soon. Wish there was something positive about this, but don't see it. Huskies continue to struggle with recruiting.

Huskies land their QB commit for the class. Jackson Stratton - La Jolla, CA. Nice size at 6'4" and has continued to move up the rankings his Jr season. Smart kid too as he's already received offers from ivy league schools.

Huskies land their first Olineman and projected to be groomed as a center. Pancakes everyone. Film is very impressive. Already had offers from USC, Arizona, Colorado, Mich St., and Kansas St.

And the dead period is over and day 1 gets it going already. 2nd lineman. Great to land one of the locals from one of the top pools of oline talent we have on the west coast this year. Great size for the interior at 6'4" and 330. Expect the Dawgs to take 2 to 3 more oline for the class.

Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that the Huskies are the first visit. I've kind of written him off at this point, but it would be huge if we're somehow able to land him. I really do believe that J.T. is capable of being a day-1 starter even as a true freshman and will be a top-5 pick in the NFL draft. It'll be a shame if/when we lose him, but based on the schools he's looking at I don't think we're going to see him in purple and gold. I just hope we don't see him in the PAC-12.

Big time get for the Dawgs. Very impressive film. Very explosive. Should fit in perfectly with our defense. Expect him to work as a 3T, but could be called upon for 5T situations as needed. And lots of chatter that this week was a massive success with the camps, even with the heat going on. Expecting some more woofs coming soon, even this week potentially.

I've already prepared myself for him going to Ohio State. I get why he would want to go there, but I still think he would be better for him to play for the Huskies. I just think it's a better situation for him.
While it's quite funny that Bama got stood up by him, and you can imagine what that did to the egos at that place, but still. If he commits to the Huskies, fantastic. But I'm not going to fault this coach staff if he doesn't. Not this one. I'm not going to get emotional about this one. It's been dragged out way too long.

He was deciding between Bama, Auburn, UW, Razorbacks, and forks and picked Montlake.

Big get for sure.

Well it looks like he committed to Ohio State.

Not too butt hurt about it. He would be idolized here, but if his objective is to get drafted as high as possible and win a national championship, I get the Ohio State decision. He won't be facing as many double teams and he will get more exposure.

I'd be willing to bet every cent I have that he will end up being a top-5 pick once he goes pro if he doesn't have any injury issues. He's just an incredible athlete. Best of luck to him.

Really excited about this one.

Great write up on UWDawgPound here.

If any of you have read the articles posted by this guy, I don't know what the hell he's doing writing for UWDawgPound. He belongs either in coaching or in some scouting department somewhere. As mentioned in the article, he's he runs like Myles Gaskin but he's 3 inches taller and about 30lbs heavier.

One of my few gripes with Petersen was his obsession with midget sized APBs and RBs sized as your secondary RBs. He never went after workhorse sized RBs and I think it was a glaring weakness that was exposed whenever we played top talent teams. Gaskin was a fabulous RB that masked some of this weakness, but it still bit us a lot of the times.

I've been begging for the Huskies to get larger with at least some of the RB choices for years now. I'm very glad to see the size of the stable of RBs they got on the roster this year and landing Megwa whose an absolute downhill beast. Outstanding get for the Huskies.

I actually hadn't even noticed that and you're right. I was just looking at the recruiting classes and the only guy who he brought in who has run well between the tackles is Newton and he was 180lbs as a recruit. It makes even less sense that the Huskies brought in so many guys who were listed as APBs when the Huskies so infrequently throw the ball to our runningbacks. If the Huskies offense frequently utilized the runningbacks out of the backfield in the passing game, it would make sense. But the way our offense has been built has been around running the ball between the tackles and the outside stretch game with the backs frequently staying in pass protection on passing plays.

I've always been a fan of big backs and it's funny I never noticed this discrepancy before.

Banned from here, then self-isolated at the other site. We are all better for it.
I honestly never saw him over there as he stayed in their PF and I have that on perm ignore. If he ever actually posted a thing related to sports I missed it. Or, should I say I didn't miss it at all.
