Seems that Trent Brown might be a goner as well. Nothing official yet but I just read an article where he was talking about where he hopes he might end up. He answered with the generic "where I'm wanted and can finish my career" but he seemed like he knew he wasn't coming back.
Not necessarily. He is posturing for a long term deal. Patriots might only want a one year prove-it.....

He gets a bunch of guaranteed money and gets to live in San Diego. Good for him. He worked for it.

RETURNING

OL James Ferentz - Reportedly Re-Signed | Full Analysis
Analysis: "Ferentz has provided valuable insurance along the offensive line over the last four seasons, with two spot starts in each of the last three years when he was thrust into duty. His return adds a layer of insurance along the interior where Ferentz can fill in at center or guard." - Mike Dussault
QB Brian Hoyer - Reportedly Re-Signed | Full Analysis
Analysis: "Hoyer will provide valuable experience and leadership for the quarterback room, especially after the departure of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Some had speculated Hoyer could transition to a coaching role but he'll be back as a player in 2022 after spending most of the last four-of-five seasons in New England. He attempted just 11 passes in 2021, serving as the primary backup to Mac Jones, but will ensure vital continuity behind the scenes." - Mike Dussault
FS Devin McCourty - Reportedly Re-Signed | Full Analysis
Analysis: "The safety group continues to be a strength for the defense and McCourty's return ensures that a high level of experience and communication will continue to be the standard on the back end." - Mike Dussault
SpT Matthew Slater - Reportedly Re-Signed | Full Analysis
Analysis: "Slater continues to provide stellar special teams play as well as off-field leadership where he's often seen breaking down the post-game huddle with a personal message. One of the core leaders of the team for a decade-and-a-half, Slater is a tone-setting piece who will ensure some important continuity." - Mike Dussault

Chargers agreed to terms with CB J.C. Jackson, formerly of the Patriots, on a five-year, $82.5 million contract.

Jackson gets $40 million guaranteed. It's essentially the same deal Byron Jones got from the Dolphins last offseason, putting Jackson among the league's highest-paid cornerbacks at $16.5 million per year. It's actually a little less than some were expecting Jackson to get, so this is a huge win for the Chargers. Bolstering the defense has been a priority for GM Tom Telesco, adding ball-hawking Jackson to the acquisition of Khalil Mack last week. Jackson leads the NFL in interceptions since entering the league as an UDFA in 2018 with 25 of them.

Excellent! Not going to Miami.....
busy paying this guy

Dolphins re-signed TE Mike Gesicki to a one-year, $10.8 million contract.

Gesicki is the first franchised player to sign his tag. This would also seem to indicate that Gesicki will not be filing a grievance over being tagged as a tight end rather than receiver. The $10.8 million is fully guaranteed, though the sides have until July 15 to reach a long-term agreement. New coach Mike McDaniel grew used to blocking monster/pass-catching dual-threat George Kittle in San Francisco, but that is not Gesicki. Being treated ever more as a pure pass catcher, Gesicki projects as a safe TE1 even with the change in coaching staff.

Looks like Jarvis Landry got a phone call from another team and it appears that he is not so close to the Patriots as previously reported on the NFL Network. Amazing how money can make or break relationships.

I hadn't seen any reports of him connected to the Pats. What I read was Buffalo and two other teams that I can't remember but aren't the Patriots.

Definitely a very good player.

Definitely a very good player.
Tough as nails after the catch. He's 30-31 and has an attitude reputation because of his dealings with the Browns.

My gut feeling is that he really doesn't want to be the 3rd choice on a team. On the Bills he'd be behind Diggs and Beasley. He's more of an inside short slot type, not anyone who would have DBs backing off. Pats need someone who's quick enough to keep the defense honest. If they want a burner, it'll have to be a draft choice.

What I read was the Bills were looking to move on from Beasley and that Landry would replace him. Not sure if that's true but it was stated by Rappaport I think.

As whacky as Beasley is, he's fast and gets open and best of all, can catch the ball. I'd rather have him than Landry. Then again, who knows what the hell is really going on anywhere??

Browns acquired LB Chase Winovich from the Patriots in exchange for LB Mack Wilson.

Wilson, who the Patriots have eyed since last year, will be part of a retooled New England linebackers group. Winovich, meanwhile, will join a stellar Cleveland pass rush graded by Pro Football Focus as the league's seventh best in 2021. Before a down 2021 in which he played a rotational role for the Pats, Winovich recoded 11 sacks in his first two pro seasons.

Patriots acquired LB Mack Wilson from the Browns in exchange for LB Chase Winovich.

A fifth-round pick back in 2019, Wilson struggled as an every-down player as a rookie before transitioning into more of a rotational job the last two seasons. The Patriots have several linebackers headed to free agency, so Wilson should get a shot at a starting job.

Amazing what what getting a haircut will do for your career.

Chase shaved it all off this past Sunday.
