Bogdanovic and Clarkson are better offensive players than Gobert. They’re both ideally the 3rd or 4th option offensively. At Louisville he was a 13 shot guy to get 15.5. His NBA numbers with more shots look like a pretty similar ratio. A number 2 scorer has to be able to complement the 1. In the modern NBA that means you’re a jump shooter in most cases. He’s career 36% from 3.

36% from 3 is fine and a good% from a guy who isn't a specialist. Dbook is at 35% and Tatum is at 38%

Sure but that’s being a #1. He would a #2 there and won’t see double teams as much and wont be the primary focus for the entire defense.

It’s like comparing Garland to a #2 or #3 that put up similar numbers. Garland had a 57 true shooting % despite being in the 10 percentile for shooting space. He was forced to take deeper 3’s with the defense keying on him. It makes a HUGE difference. Miami is the fav in the East with Mitchell.

Wiggins was a 33% 3 point shooter until he got to GS. Mitchell shot 36% for his career from 3 and 2 years ago shot 39% on 9 attempts. Just imagine him next to Butler, Strus, Oladipo and Bam.

Where’s Lowry in all of this? Does he go in another deal?

You now have three guys that are best with the ball in their hands in Butler Lowry Mitchell. If these guys commit to doing the right things off ball, then wow with 3 guys who can take a match up off the dribble in your closing 5. But of the 3 Lowry is the best 3 pt shooter and he’s not really elite although he has had a few campaigns in his career where he was over 40%

Good question. I would think Lowry stays in Miami on DM deal but probably gone in the KD deal? All those guys can facilitate though

I was going to say Mitchell wins them the East, KD wins them the chip the next few Seasons, if healthy.

I guess I'm higher on Playoff Jimmy than others.

No player can guarantee you ships for "the next few seasons". It doesn't work like that in the modern NBA. Even the KD Warriors only won 2.

I was just talking to my friend about how KD is cursed on some level

He lost, let’s say likely finals berths due to injuries to Russ and ibaka

The 3-1 comeback was rough, and he lost a title with his own injury vs tor

And then the injuries to harden AND kyrie against eventual champ mil last year….

That’s a lot of bad luck

The Celtics have GOATum. The single bestest player in the history of history. The Lakers have Westbrick.

But JT's record setting total turnover numbers for the playoffs. Half of those a foul should have been called but the refs swallowed their whistles. So obviously he's only on the hook for 50 turnovers.
