Sounds like they're pretty close, the negotiations aren't far apart. Down to 1 pick and/or taking back Harris (presumably instead of Curry, since a straight Russ/Kyrie swap won't work salary-wise). From that description, seems the Nets either have a third team lined up for Russ or they are willing to take on that salary. Interesting.

Save the pick and take Harris imo

Depends on what their plans are for 2023. If they're extending Kyrie, no real reason not to take Harris IMO. Nets want both though, which is the sticking point currently (along with waiting for the Durant shoe to drop).

It is so funny to me how people glorify that era.

If I am playing at the park and I am not good enough to stay in front of the guy I am guarding, guess what I do?

I cheat. I handcheck, I grab and I hold.

Basically play 90s defense.

NBA was correct to change the rules to bring out the artistry that should be in NBA basketball.

And with that said, IMO it is a lot easier to adjust to more physical play than it is to break the habits of hand checking.

Or in the case of many defenders from that era, they wouldn’t have jobs today because they aren’t agile enough to play without using physicality as a crutch.
Some very good points. A lot more difficult to play defense now if you are a great defender in todays' game, kudos to you. You can get a foul for a tap on the wrist.

Yeah so MJ likely would have got at least one more title without the Pistons Jordan rules
That's why it's pretty unfair to compare resumes to determine a GOAT between different eras. Every player was dealt with different circumstances and maybe everything just went right for one player and his resume. MJ gets drafted a few years earlier and maybe he has zero or a few titles with those Pistons, C's and Lakers teams in their prime. Lebron has a dynasty in place in CLE....Kyrie and Love get hurt. The W's add KD then Kyrie forces his way out. Maybe Lebron has 5 or 6 at this point.
You have to play to the rules of the era, nobody is stopping Lebron with a hand check and I think he thrives even more in MJ's era. MJ thrives in this era but some people act like he is putting up 40 ppg in this era bc the rules are more strict, it doesn't work like that. More athletes and competition in this era BY FAR. It's not even close.

MJ is also a (late) Boomer dude. LeBron is a Millennial.
Just like comparing players in different era in different rules, the game is different now. In today's game MJ would be doing the same. Couldn't be more untrue anyway, Bron respects MJ.

Yeah he played not that badly for the Wizards. Per 36 numbers way down but he still played that many minutes, scored like 22 per game.

relative to era , he averaged 8 more points a game than second place-Dominique that year he averaged 37

Sources: NBA's transition 'take foul', bench decorum on verge of stiffer penalties for 2022-23 season

Hope this is accurate. I hate that take foul nonsense.

And bench guys. Stop acting like every good dunk and slick pass is worth the overreactions.

Sounds that way. I'm not sure where Mannix lands in the legit source category though.
