Yeah I guess that's what I'm saying, I'm clearly denying he was great.

Fuck outta here with that. No shit.
Never said you were, but of course true greatness is going to grow over the years. Just part of it.

He’d score every single time on ja
Because Ja is tiny compared to him (and the 'quote' was a fake anyway). As others have pointed out, taller players like KD would likely beat him at one on one. And playing guys near him in size, those would be good battles (Kawhi, PG, etc)

Who wins one on one LBJ vs MJ? It's not gonna be MJ every time.

Sure, he's probably always going to be considered GOAT or co-GOAT. Just saying, he wasn't a god. Someone says Ja is more explosive (which is true, so was Russ) and the worshippers start yelling.
I haven’t really gotten involved until now. For me, I’m a it’s too hard to compare players from different eras gin. Give Michael Jordan the same access kids have today to advancements made in kinesiology and training. That’s just one of many different variables. And then, this discussion has been about 1 on 1. It’s a team game of 5 on 5 and that’s what separates Michael from a lot of guys. People called him a ball hog and stuff but he made the guys around him better. Guys like Brady Jordan Gretzky Tiger (prime) Montana etc were out skilled in some aspects of their game but they have that IT factor of a champion of all champions. Just my opinion.

Anyone watching rj ref in summer league?

I watched the first 5 mins or so. He wasn't making any calls so I turned it off. I guess his brain was going so fast he got too timid to actually do something

If he could average 37 in a league with the bad boy pistons. I’m pretty sure he’s average 40 now easy lol

Especially with the more restrictive defensive rules today, MJ would feast (no handchecking). And he'd have got that 3 ball sharp earlier in this era.

He definitely would’ve got a respectable 3 if that was the thing then

Just looked him up. Dude was the Babe Ruth of the NBA. His numbers look made up. His peak was probably 1987-1996 but that 1996 year, he shot 49.5% overall 42.7% from 3

Check it:

The 50 percent for his career considering his last two years on Wizards and the half the year he came back from baseball when he wasn’t ready is pretty remarkable considering the landscape of the NBA at that time

Yeah I think he could still get anywhere he wanted on the floor and with all of the shot doctors and emphasis on the three you translate his work ethic and he’s likely to be a better 3 pt shooter. Not Steph or anything but probably 37-38%

Only small guys just last year that were comparable in a way easier to score league were derozan and ja to put that in perspective

Yeah he played not that badly for the Wizards. Per 36 numbers way down but he still played that many minutes, scored like 22 per game.
