It works, but year one is typically a little rough as you tend to lack depth.

They will need some ring chasers
Eh..

They didn't have it the last time they won.

Dubs did. But, they drafted most their guys.

If you squint, Toronto, Bucks did.

Siakam was a star after they won it.

He wasn't in that category before that.

Holiday and Middleton make max money.

Some would say they aren't max worthy.

I think they are for that team.

But, unless you.draft 2 of the 3 stars, and can exceed the cap for your drafted role players....

I don't think that strategy is sustainable, nor conducive for winning, with the punitive nature of the tax.

Unless...as you said, 15-20 mil per guys start ring chasing for the minimum.

The heat did. Year one they needed more depth but they had it for future years as they had more options and available

That was a decade ago.

Fyi - In my head, I meant based on the last 5 Champs.

That's why I used those specific teams.

Unfortunately, that thought didn't make to to my keyboard... Lol

They made trades for them.

Which is why a trade for kyrie would benefit them on that level.

Have all 3, and have some exceptions to use to keep their current fas and add guys

Not to move the goalposts...

But, if they get Kyrie is the crux of the debate of why I believe it will become less common, unless you draft them or do a sign and trade.

The Lakers don't have a path to a max deal for Kyrie.

Only way to get him, and give him the max, is to get rid of Bron /Davis or do a sign and trade.

That hard caps them.

Means, no matter what, they can't exceed 158 mil.

Guy gets hurt, you are at 157 and only have 8 players.....to bad, can't add anyone.

A max for Kyrie/LeBron/Davis is about 130 mil.

That doesn't include Christie or anyone else on their roater.

If they just sign him outright, he's gonna have to take 25 mil or less.

Good luck with either option.

They are better off landing multiple mid tier guys.

Yeh I meant they’re holding out for the nets seaosn to fall apart Again and kyrie wants out

Get 2 firsts or nothing basically.

That lets them resign Beverly as well

More believable? Not sure about. Seems that his back issues were never a problem for him until he wanted outta Philly.

** = But who quit on who first? Pretty sure it was BS that said he would never play for the 76ers again. That kinda put the organization in a tough spot. His refusal to play makes him look very selfish.

And he quit on the 76ers well before he mentioned anything about mental health issues. Odd he didn't have any issues until he decided he had a problem with Philly.

I wonder what will happen when he gets back on the court. If the local sports media says anything critical about him will he throw another temper tantrum and refuse play?

Exactly.

After 90% of a Philly fans said they wanted him traded (or killed) after he passed up that dunk in game 7.

That is Philly quitting on Ben plain and simple.

Udoka is a dog, man.

I always wonder about middle-aged men who get themselves into these types of predicaments.

Keep in mind, I'm not talking younger men. They're just thinking with their d!ck... whatever, it's comprehendible.

But a middle-aged dude? A guy who already has a pretty fine woman... who is having a full-blown affair with another... and is still getting more strange on the side?

Honestly, that would be too much female nonsense in my life. That's phone calls, text messages, dates.... hassle. I wouldn't even enjoy it... not enough good to outweigh all the bad.

No, not exactly.

All teams have some fans that are crazy. And sadly athletes get crazy threats. But BS isn't the first athlete to take abuse from fans. Can you name another situation where a player quit on his team because he thought the fans were too mean?

I will say this sucks for the Celtics.....they could take a step back since Udoka got them farther than Brad did.

Sorry, not sorry.

I don’t need to.

His situation is pretty unique.

That doesn’t make Philly right for the way they treated him.

Doesn’t make Simmons right either.

I mean if Matt Barnes says a relationship is messy, its probably messy. Should probably listen to a guy that drove like 100 miles to beat Derek Fisher's ass

Absolutely his situation is unique. No player in the NBA has done what he's done. I think it's fitting he's teammates with Kyrie. If any team needs bench psychiatrist it's the Nets.
