What it means is exactly what the Lakers have said, they aren't giving up 1st round picks just to move Westbrook and they aren't giving them up for a trade that doesn't move them to contender status. Hence, while Pat Bev makes them better, he doesn't move them into contender status.

However, something like the Hield/Turner trade or one of the trades that is said to involve Bog, would move them into contender status... so for one of those, they likely give up both firsts...one to move Westbrook and one to get the players.

Obviously, they'll try to drag their feet and see if they can get someone to only take 1 of them. But, I doubt they can pull that off.

The only fathomable value Russ would have is going to a team who would be looking to get even further under the cap SU. But his salary is so huge that it makes it hard for teams to make it work.

Like the Knicks I'm sure would do Fournier and Randle for Russ since Randle fully appears to be a disaster there.

I agree Stakesarehigh. Many people looking to blame somebody for this mess are pointing their finger at Pelinka for signing Westbrook to such a large contract to begin with. Pelinka is the front man in this mess and the GM who did pull the trigger.

Everyone forgets the contributing factors of everyone listening to James on the matter. Then there was the absence of Jeannie Buss who, perhaps should have stepped-in. So, there are alot of contributions to the present predicament.

The best deal would be the Indiana deal of Hield/Turner for Westbrook and Two Number Ones but as we all know, that ain't happening just yet for reasons already discussed ad nauseum.

They traded for RW's contract. Pelinka didn't sign him to that deal.

But I think your career should come before pride for your country but that’s just me
Be pretty tough to field a team for the Olympics if everyone thought that way

Indy is better because of Turner.

But, maybe the Lakers are content with he Centers they signed and don't want to pay what it would cost to keep Miles?

They actually NEED Bogdanovic.

...and as crazy as it is to believe, Fournier and Buddy have similar stats, contracts and are the same age.

Evan has a team option after next year.

So, his contract expires at the same time, if that's what his team wishes.

The eye test is telling me I'd rather have Buddy.

But, one is a tiny bit better overall from the field, the other from the 3 PT line.

But, both shoot 40% or better from 3.

I guess It just seems like Evan sucks because the team did so poorly.

Wow. Seems like Fournier has been around forever. I would've guessed that he was much older than Hield.
