Not really that surprising. With the negative stuff that has been leaked about Westbrook, they really can't bring him back at this point. So it's either get him traded or buy him out.

Starting extension talks with Lebron is likely part of it as well.

Like I said before, Lebron stays if they get a Kyrie deal done. If they don't he still could sign but I think it would go a long way to add Kyrie and take Russ out of the equation.
