I mean...he's still a pretty decent basketball player he just doesn't see his limits whatsoever. He thinks he's 2016 Russ
He'd be best suited accepting a role off the bench as a 6th man for 28-30mpg.

He'd be a serious 6th man of year candidate.

nope i'm actually happy that he's happy but he himself stated that he wanted to be the man nad didn't want to play in the Doncic. if the Knicks did bring in Mitchell and Bron he would be back in the shadows of those 2
Play in the Doncic?

Bro, that's creepy.

They made the wcf and added wood.

They were at least trying

The zinger trade really hurt and Josh green hasn’t developed as needed.

They will be interesting since they have quite a few expiring deals and could try to make another move.

They really need hardaway to bounce back
Hardaway could help make up for the loss of Brunson's scoring.

KD fits the roster better imo.
Absolutely! Only guy on that team that you can isolate and work down the stretch and be a bucket is Butler. KD becomes the 2nd. Mitchell thinks he’s that guy but he isn’t that guy. KD even at 34 is a plus defender in the playoffs. Mitchell came out with a rep for being a solid defender out of Louisville and to this point in his career has been a defensive liability. KD is a winner and Mitchell is just a volume chucker.

My guess would be that @bksballer89 is weighing the relative cost in acquiring them and not a head to head player comparison

KD makes them the favorite in the East. Mitchell still has them behind Bucks and Celtics for me.
I was going to say Mitchell wins them the East, KD wins them the chip the next few Seasons, if healthy.

I guess I'm higher on Playoff Jimmy than others.

I love playoff Jimmy! I think Mitchell needs the ball in his hands to be effective which takes the ball out of Bucket’s hands. KD can play with the ball and create out of doubles or shoot over his cover. He can also play off ball and be effective as well. Mitchell is a one trick pony for me.

Wrap your mind around paying Mitchell/Brunson/Barrett 90 mil per.

To be a 6-10 seed.

Nah

If they dont trade randle they are a top 5 seed to me probably. That would be one of the better starting lineups in basketball

Why Mitchell is a bad acquisition:
He’s a one dimensional player right now that averages 26 a game and is only like 25. That guy is going to command a haul on the trade market. Playoff basketball is about two-way players. Mitchell isn’t that guy but you could argue in the right system that he can become that guy. That’s a projection though and an asset you should be able to acquire low based on that. He’s the opposite of that because he’s been an All Star, is still young, and he scores 26 a game. Now add in the Danny Ainge factor wherein he doesn’t do a deal unless he’s convinced he dominated the deal and it’s why I’m projecting Mitchell to the Knicks. At the end of the day, Miami isn’t going to see this as anything other than an overpay. The Knicks are irrelevant in a big basketball community. They need to overpay to signal some give a fuck to their fanbase.

KD stays in Brooklyn
Mitchell goes to the Knicks

No argument. Would have to ruin the team to get KD though. Mitchell keep the team intact. Basically swap out Herro, 1-2 role players, and a a few draft picks for Mitchell. Kd will cost much more
Don’t think that beats a Knicks deal.

It probably doesn't which is fine. Wouldn't give much more than that
Yep. Mitchell is an asset that brings a premium price but when you assess what the player brings, he doesn’t warrant that premium the acquiring team would have to pay. Ainge was a great hire for Utah. He is going to fleece Knicks and TWolves for monster assets for two one way players.
