This is from Lake Show Life...so make sure you have a few grains of salt handy.

According to Jason Reed, because the Nets just signed TJ Warren and Edmond Sumner, it may be that they are preparing for trades and suggests that a trade for Kyrie could be ''around the corner''. He says that if the Lakers include Kendrick Nunn and THT, they may be able to get both Curry and Harris.

I guess I could see his point re: Kyrie...not sure why the Nets would want THT and Nunn other than they'd be trading about $27 million in salary for about $15 million in salary...not sure if that works within the cap anyway if they did want them.

Nunn and THT? Why do the Nets want those two players? Just doesn’t make sense imo

Yeah, grain of salt.

I think they made the kind of signings a team that expects to male the playoffs would sign.

Been trying to figure that one out myself.

The only reason I could think of is what I mentioned with the difference in salary. Other than that, it just seems like he's trying to get the Lakers the shooting they need without considering whether or not those are players the Nets would even want.

I mean...Ben simmons is still a very good basketball player. If you add a decent core based around the KD trade that team could definitely compete.

Exactly.

Here is the thing that people seem to be forgetting.

Brooklyn has ZERO incentive to tank.

Houston has all their picks.

They are like the Season 's past Clippers.

OKC was going to get out pick regardless.

Why put the cherry on top of that shit Sundae by making it a top 10 pick?

That's why they want picks and possibly an All-Star for KD.

They want to at least tread water.

Taking that garbage Lakers offer is a 1 way ticket off the side of a cliff.

THT is not good.

He's not.

Yes, he's young and has time.

But, he doesn't move the needle.

They should have sold high on his ass last year before the wheels fell off.

Yeah, grain of salt.

Several of them. lol

Agree. With what they say they will require to move KD, they are likely going to be in the playoff hunt. If that's the case, I'd think that they would actually keep Curry.

Honestly, I forgot about him...lol.

Sure, if he isn't curled into the fetal position with a icey hot patch on his back.

But, you can't build around Ben.

He can't be your best player.

Me too. Assuming they are keeping him, if they get what they say they want for KD, they're definitely looking at being a playoff team. So all the more reason to keep Curry.

Gotta say it's pretty weird the Nets let Bruce Brown walk but kept Mills for more money?
I couldn't believe that he had to take the qualifying offer last year.

If you remember, he hardly played the beginning of the Season.

Someone there must not like him very much.

....and avoid Westbrook.

Not sure they'd want the Indy players from Shane's tweet.

I don't think you can play Turner and Claxton.

But, they'd be easier to move than Westbrook.

You could flip them for something else.

I think they'll just tell Westbrook to stay home or buy him out. That way they would at least get a pick or 2 for Kyrie. Or, maybe some of the holdup is trying to loop in a 3rd team to take Westbrook? Something similar to Shanes tweet.

All of this is with Shams and Woj saying that the Lakers and Nets aren't even really negotiating yet...what's it going to be like when they actually start? lol

And in real basketball news, through one half of a summer league game Chet Holmgren looks like a GOAT candidate.
