2) they are in ideal position for a rebuild with all those potentially valuable picks they just landed. Trade Mitchell and get even more, then bottom out.

Would be a pretty quick rebuild with a chance at hitting top pick next year.

He is a modern 5 for sure.

I worry about KAT and Gobert as a defensive pairing. That is a lot of shot blocking, but not a lot of lateral quickness.

Don’t be surprised if they are worse defensively this year after adding Gobert.
