For the Wiz, it's going to come down to paying Brogdon or paying Hachimura.

As a Pacers fan it's obvious which way I'm pushing...

But now that you sold your franchise to Beal, probably best to go with the guy closer to his age @tlance.

I have never once pushed back on the idea that the Wizards might trade for Brogdon.

It is your unrealistic expectation that Brogdon is a trade asset that will draw a decent young player and a pick.

He is most definitely not a trade asset. He is a liability. The type you have to attach a pick to to move unless you are taking back a worse contract.

And I am definitely the biggest Malcom Brogdon fan on this site.

No. I didn't pick those sources to make comparisons. The issue is you telling me to stop reading "shit" in your words and then of course, as I stated, you provided the correct sources as Woj and others.

Read what you want to read.

Just be aware that the Laker sites you are looking at post a lot of “trade ideas” that are extremely 1 sided and drastically over inflate the value of the Laker “assets” going out.

In other words, most of those ideas are extremely unrealistic.

I seriously do not understand this Brunson love affair the Knicks have. I mean the guy is a nice player but damn.

He is good.

But when you build your entire off season plans around paying him $130 million over 4 years, that shows a wild level of incompetence.

If we can't find a trade for him before the season....bring him off the bench. If he doesn't play well, try and trade him by the deadline as an expiring contract, if we can't.....buy him out.

Let's see some consistency from the NBA.

Knicks and Sixers should both get the same penalty Chicago and Miami got last season

Shouldn't they at least find evidence of tampering first?

Hard to imagine any team is going to trade for the privilege of paying Westbrook 50 million dollars. And any team that would do so is looking to dump even worse contracts.

What’s funny to me is the expectation that an also ran best case scenario 5/6 seed is going to take on more years and salary coming back instead of just biting the bullet for one more year.

Yeah. The Lakers just need to take their medicine. Now real way around it.

We'll see.

Lakers fans were saying that last season as well.

There are practical limits of what a team can do with an albatross contract. Other teams aren't going to do the Lakers a favor and bail them out. There will be a ton of pain associated with any move.

We'll see.

Yes we will.

The expiring contract trade you are hoping for means you will be taking back longer term bad contracts.

Might be for better fitting players, but Russ’ expiring contract is not an asset.

We discussed Harris or Hayward yesterday as more likely options if anything

@WiggyRuss The 4 1st's for Murray is outrageous BUT if the Cavs put in this offer, what do you think? I doubt that gets it done but that would probably be the max picks I would want to give up.

Okoro and Cedi + 2 future 1st's

This is a common misconception by fans. They think that an expiring contract is an asset. It CAN be an asset for rebuilding teams willing to take on bad contracts in order to get other assets. But it is absolutely NOT an asset for a team looking to make a playoff run.

Theoretically, they could use Westbrook in a sign and trade I guess. But I don't see any options in that way.

If it is any consolation, Lakers fans, I think Harden is about to sink the Sixers franchise with an albatross contract.

They found nothing on miami and Chicago last year either except lowry and ball agreed to terms immediately after the start of free agency. Looks like brunson and tucker will do the same tomorrow at 601 pm

According to reports, they found evidence that the teams contacted Lowry's and Ball's reps before the window opened.

That was just sloppy tampering. Most teams are smart enough to not make direct contact with the reps until the window opens.
