Spoiler

My wife loved loved Dany so she was equally bothered by it all. The writing was on the wall it would go that route but yes....they did a poor job getting there. Also all the build up with the White Walkers and it ended very suddenly.

They spent too much money on special effects and CGI that they could have cut out and added four or five more episodes wirh a better story. But it was pretty I guess lol..

Last Kingdom's ending totally blows away GOT in all aspects. Now granted that's a different POV in that it has one main character...but still.

If you haven't seen it I highly advise it.
I just finished The Last Kingdom.

I thought it was good. Personally- I liked it the most when Alfred was around- but after he left it was still good. He was a great antagonist against Uhtred though.

Gotta put some of that on D & D too.

HBO would have let them go a few more seasons.

But, D&D had just lined up Star Wars/Marvel projects and did not want to continue.

So, they crammed it all into 1 shit Season, which ultimately led them to dropout/ get removed from consideration of the Marvel projects because it ....

Sucked.

So.

BAAAAAAAAAD.

Karma, Baby.
yah--- D&D wanted to go off and do Star Wars so they rushed it- and then lost their Star Wars deal because they rushed it--- and then got iced on HBO after they tried to do a show on if the south won the Civil War.

From the heights of season 4 and 5--- to a mediocre season 6 and a somewhat nonsensical season 7- it was a quick nose dive for them. I dont think its a coincidence they lost control when the books ran out.

speaking of which- its been 10 years in between books now......who knows when we actually get book 6, and i dont know if there is any hope for book 7 at this point.

It’s really not a huge deal unless you get unlucky. No different than earthquakes or whatever.

Oh yeah, most all the houses in these newer neighborhoods have a shelter in the garage floor.

That's good.

Some friends of mine lived in Kansas for awhile. Their basement served as their storm shelter. They had it fixed up so cool, that's where we spent most of our time. lol

Are they concrete houses?
No we don’t have concrete houses. Normal construction. The storm shelters are steel. They cut a hole in your garage floor and set it in. Has a sliding door on it that opens at ground level. Built in stairs, just walk down them and slide door behind you and you are below ground level.

Rather deal with a shaker than these fucking tornadoes.

Wish we had moved to Vegas.
Well at least you know there has to be storms around to have one. But yes in the last decade or so the really bad ones seem to have shifted east of me over your way.

When I left LA, my top 3 choices were AZ, OKC and Vegas.

Vegas is a cesspool and have horrible school districts.

OKC only lost out to AZ because of the treat of tornados.

Sadly, I didn't account for the monsoons or the fact that half of California residents seems to have migrated here around the same time.

At least I got to keep my assault rifles...lol

Yeah I’m resigned to the fact South Dakota seems like my best option?

He would be better on nbatv

He probably chose ESPN since he lives in Brooklyn and can work out of their NYC studio. NBATV/Turner does all the stuff in Atlanta. Plus, I'm happy he's with ESPN because they needed to step their game up. Looks like they're at least making a half attempt at improving their coverage with hires like him, Richard Jefferson, and Chiney Ogwumike. And they've been giving much more airtime to Tim Legler this season too. Hell, even Perk has toned down the idiocy and has had some decent takes.
