Raw as you've defined it cannot be separated from the responsibilities of the team drafting this raw talent. Take New England for example and the job that they did with a guy who perfectly fit their offensive scheme. M. Jones is very limited and they knew it, so what did they do? They made great efforts to hide his limitations while putting him in very familiar situations that enhanced their opportunity to be competitive. The difference is akin to putting a toddler behind an automobile steering wheel versus putting him/her in one of those walkers in which they learn to walk.

The issue in relation to your definition of "raw" is fit and not simply how the player fits the organization, but also how the organization is a fit for the player. With Lawrence both applied and the results are obvious!
Jones wasn’t raw , he was pro ready

C'mon man the most "pro-ready" player in that draft was Lawrence, then Fields, Wilson, Jones, then Lance. Lawrence went to one of the worse places to go as an incoming pro. Fields went to Chicago a place noted to destroy QB's because of their coaching staff. Jones to the Jets, well, it's the Jets and what does all three have in common... each replaced the staff that simply wasn't up to the task. (Robert Saleh replaced Gase one season ago)

Now in comparison, Jones went to player heaven where with few exceptions the staff has been in place for 22 years, producing playoff teams and championships. His style of play wasn't commensurate to their former starter (just retired) but he had moments, mostly manufactured by the organization, until exposed, that reminded some of that guy. Don't get me wrong here, Jones fits pretty well with the organization and the organization fits well in what they are asking of him. Expectations are now set, we'll see what he does as an encore, but whatever it is, it will be because of design.

The article I referenced ( or tweet ) said he was raw and questioned the evaluation process

The reality might be different but we got sidetracked on what raw really is

I would give the guy a pass for last year just because Meyer was coaching him. That was a shit show.

Any worry in DC that Seattle might take Willis at 9?

So this isn't about his skills huh? It's about who's responsible for working with him to define what he already has. In that respect Lawrence isn't the problem... Jacksonville is!!
I keep telling all of you, Pickett will come in and put up the same or better numbers as Lawrence in year 1

Perhaps, but you have to concede, Pickett won't be going to Jacksonville and a college-level head coach named Meyer!!

Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl when Big Ben was a rookie. They would have still won a SB that year if they have Phillip Rivers or Eli Manning as their QB (the other 2 rookies taken ahead of Big Ben).

Willis would be the closes replacement to Wilson that they could get through the draft or FA. So yeah, I'd day the odd are high that they will. They did get Drew Lock though so they may give him a chance.

I will be dumbfounded, and flabbergasted if they take a qb at 11. Ron on record has said, you draft a qb that high to play him and not sit him. I'm nearly 100% positive there will be a prospect worth the 11th pick other than qb
