If not for Kyle Hamilton, Sauce Gardner could very well be the best player in this draft!! In any case, whether one likes Gardner first or Hamilton first, a defensive back is the best player in this draft and I don't believe that there's a lot of debate about that.

I can't believe I'm actually leaning toward him over a QB @11. Sauce @11 and Ridder @42 wouldn't hurt my feelings.

People under value "WHERE" players end up. Fit often is as important as skill. I don't care how much talent you've got, if you are in a bad situation your chances at success are woefully lessened. Lawrence went to Jacksonville.. let me repeat that, JACKSONVILLE!!!

He is a rookie on a horrible JAGS team
Again if he is described as “raw “ playing for the jags isn’t in play .

Being raw means you have trouble reading defenses , knowing offenses, have sloppy fundamentals

You can play for the rams and still be raw

You can also be good at all this things and still look horrible on a horrible team

So this isn't about his skills huh? It's about who's responsible for working with him to define what he already has. In that respect Lawrence isn't the problem... Jacksonville is!!

I get it, there are people who can't find fault or responsibility with the team/organization when it comes to players. That's BS of course, learning to be a professional doesn't happen simply because one is being paid. There must be a good fit and responsible people in place to take a newly incorporated player from college to a well honed pro.

sty i am not saying the jags arent awful . i am saying the term "raw " can happen on any team . malik willis is raw and he will be raw no matter who picks him . . how he is developed is a different thing much like the jags and lawrence

Raw as you've defined it cannot be separated from the responsibilities of the team drafting this raw talent. Take New England for example and the job that they did with a guy who perfectly fit their offensive scheme. M. Jones is very limited and they knew it, so what did they do? They made great efforts to hide his limitations while putting him in very familiar situations that enhanced their opportunity to be competitive. The difference is akin to putting a toddler behind an automobile steering wheel versus putting him/her in one of those walkers in which they learn to walk.

The issue in relation to your definition of "raw" is fit and not simply how the player fits the organization, but also how the organization is a fit for the player. With Lawrence both applied and the results are obvious!
