Sandstrom has 23 saves tonight so far and he's given-up one goal. Good game for him. Starting to look like Carter Hart!

We are winning in the Shots on Goal and the Hits categories but are behind in the Face-offs. Doing pretty well tonight but I hope they just keep their foot on the accelerator and not lift until the final buzzer.

And Tippet gets the second Goal in the 3rd Period to seal the deal with a nice 4-goal cushion.

Nice game tonight felt good for Sandstrom he played well. Loved the final shut down gave the blues nothing in the end. They are playing solid fundamental hockey all working together. The added size and youth is growing each game. Seiler was fantastic tonight he keeps getting better.

Seeler 1 assist 4 blocked shots and a fight
Risto 3 hits 3 blocked shots This pair played really good tonight.
Noah Cates 1 goal 1 assist had a great game
Nice to see guys like Allison get rewarded for all the hard corner work he does. 7 hits
Sedlak with a goal, isn't great but does chip in every game
Owen Tippet 1 goal 1 assist played a solid all around game. Getting better every game
TK doing TK things 1 goal 1 assist now has 14 points in 12 games
McEwen 6 hits was everywhere the puck was.
Sandstom made the big stops when he needed to.
Wish we had more games like this

We are right behind Jersey, Islanders, and Carolina. Tortorella is lighting a fire under this team and he may eventually get some lazy-ass overpaid players going as well.

Yep I forgot to add that the young guys are hungry eye of the tiger haha! Hopefully that rubs off on guys like Risto.

No more country club in the locker room like it has been for the last several years.

From the Athletic:

In 2020-21 and 2021-22, it was the Philadelphia Flyers with their coaches bemoaning a lack of fire and pushback. It was the Flyers that opponents would look to exploit their “here we go again” mentality. It was the Flyers with multiple extending losing skids.

The twist? On this night, the Flyers weren’t the bad hockey team in the Wells Fargo Center. They were the team taking advantage of another one.

Please let them make those uniforms we wore last night an everyday uniform as they were straight fire :flame:

Totally agree. They were super sharp in their simplicity. At the other end of the spectrum are the Bruins reverse retro jersey with Yogi Bear on the front in totally different and clashing colors than the rest of the uni.

I tried watching the Bruins / Blues game on Monday, but between the hideous uniforms and the gawdawful Bruins play by play guy, I switched to reruns on cable.

Its funny how the Flyers organization got roasted all pre season for letting Gaudreau sign with Columbus and they are 3-9 and stuck with a 10 million contract for the next 7 years. Where have all the Gaudreau backers gone? :noidea:

I was not on the gaudreau bandwagon as I didn’t think he’d make that much of a difference with the flyers, especially not for $10Mil.

I watched a good portion of Canes / Leafs earlier this week. Jordan Staal shut down Matthews - held to zero SoG. Leafs did win with their other scorers picking up the load. My point, a good coach with the tools can shut down a one-trick pony. Now, not sure where Laine has gone. BJ’s have almost $18Mil tied up between Johnny hockey and Laine.

Its funny you bring up Jordan Stall locking up Mathews. There is a whole article in the Athletic today that teams these days dont win with offense only and that defense leads to offense. Teams with offense only players are good for fantasy leagues but not actual hockey.

What do you suppose the Athletic would pay for my obvious expertise?
