Apparently Ham still wants more D and is not so much concerned with scoring at this time. Sooner or later, he is going to have to get help on the scoring end of things. Great D is good, especially for the old sieve Lakers, but that will be the launching pad to find scorers on the offensive side of the court.

That is exactly the resolution. Ham should just chill and build what he has. He doesn't need another P. Bev. He's got some great defenders and as TJF12, DJ, and yourself have already posted, Ham has convinced Westbrook to be awesome on the D end of the floor to which Westbrook has responded quite well in just two games already.

Now Ham needs to get Ryan, Swider, Christie, Walker, Reaves, and even Nunn to be above-10 sharp-shooters every night. AD and James need help and they need it every night.

Ham is on the right track and he has adequately solved a conundrum with Westbrook IMO. Now he just needs to chill and develop his team. The wins will come.

You are probably right thunderc but James has to slowly understand that his career is coming to a close and the Lakers need to build for the time when James is gone. Jeannie has already let James know that we ain't taking personnel decisions advice from you any longer.

Defense keeps you in games though, and it's mostly effort so you don't go 'cold' like some nights where you can't shoot.

The Warriors titles have always had people focused on their offense but defense is why they keep winning them. And why Draymond is more valuable than most give him credit for including many Warriors fans.

If Ham gets the Lakers to be strong defensively, then the big 2 + a different 3rd contributor each night should be enough to win games. Enough to make the top 10? If healthy, probably. Top 6? Not likely.

Listen, he was really good with the Clippers.

Plays his role and can defend.

But, he can't help you on offense.

Wouldn't hate it. The Lakers don't just need perimeter shooting, they need size. So, he'd help with that as well.

If the Lakers could add him and complete the Turner/Hield trade that refuses to die, or if something shakes out early as teams try to get in on the VW sweepstakes (as Pelinka thinks will happen)...they could actually have a contending team if they can keep Lebron and AD healthy.

I get the frustration though and, in many ways, he is his own worst enemy.

Dude has actually said that he thinks he's a good shooter.

Goes 0-11 from the field, then says he thinks he had a solid game.

It's like he thinks the fans are stupid.

Kawhi was on pace to score 30+ points if he played 40 minutes, so far so good. Just a little worried because ACL is the most serious injury you can have. It was just a partial tear, i don't know if their is any doctors here to tell me if a partial tear is any different then a full tear considering they both need surgery? Jamal Murray had a full tear and he looks like shit so far.

John Wall also had a 33% usage, which is way too high. The ball needs to go through Kawhi and Wall needs to be more of a role player. If Wall insists on being that much of a ball hog, he should only play 20 minutes a game.

Zubac looked good, 25 is usually when a player hits his peak so hopefully this is the start of his.

According to what I have seen, Pelinka wants to give it until after Thanksgiving before making a trade. So, the more defense, the better.

There are a lot of variables in coaching decisions and Kawhi hasn’t played in a long time.

Obviously he isn’t going to have a bench role all season and obviously Lue is not a moron.

It isn’t all about what is best for your narrative. It is about what is best for the clippers over an 82 game grind.

But i was basically 2 wins away from being proven a genius, so i guess i wasn't that far off.

hopefully you're correct. ACL ended Derrick Rose's career it seemed or turned him into a 6th man.

But Kawhi doesn't rely on athleticism like Rose, so he should be ok.
