Is he all star material? Well if you only look at his offense obviously not. But he's kind of a good defender I think. He's the heart & soul of the best team in the league. But that doesn't makes him an all star. It would be cool to see him named a reserve though.

There have been lesser players who made all star teams.

Kyle Korver was an all star.

I don’t have a problem with Smart getting an opportunity.

Yeah, he's more of a defensive presence.

A perimeter oriented, pint sized Draymond.

I'm easily seduced by offense.

So, maybe I'm not giving him the credit he deserves.

His true importance to the Celtics sometimes doesn't show up in the box score. Little things like diving for loose balls, drawing charges. Now I'll admit I might be a bit biased because Marcus is my current favorite Celtic. I really like his hustle on the defensive end. And good call on the mini-Draymond. Minus that a-hole personality though.
