I got it! Trade Griffin to Boston for some bench players and/or two late 2nd round picks. Then the Celtics can turn around and trade Griffin to Detroit for Drummond.

I get that this isn’t serious, but any time giving Griffin would have to attack multiple first round picks and/or take back some really horrible contracted

Can't see anyone trading for him especially considering how bad he looked this season. Pistons will have to buy him out imo

I wouldn't want him on my team that's for sure.

And it gets worse, he makes $39 million next year. Up from $36.5 million this year.

Maybe he can get traded at the deadline or after the season as an expiring contract?

I don't even see him having value as a "name player" that some team could add to help put butts in seats when fans are allowed back in.

He did say he wants a better opportunity. Maybe he'd actually take the one year buy out and pass on the option. Sounds really crazy because he would lose like 30 million dollars but maybe money isn't a big deal for him

Can he decline the option now to improve his trade value?

Not sure actually

Wouldn't the Pistons be better off without him?

Sorry I was saying that as a team interested in trading for him

Yes. Detroit becomes a better team with him off the floor.

My bad. Maybe some team out there might be interested. Don't ask me who though.

I read a (dumbass) article from a Boston publication that the C's should consider a move for Griffin:

Even if we get Griffin plus a guy... what a terrible, terrible idea.

I even went into this season thinking he could get close to what he was two years ago. But he's fallen off a cliff. If he wasn't Blake Griffin I'm not sure he'd be in the league.

This is the exact same injury KD had no?

He is wise to sit for quite a while. They don't need him to make the playoffs that don't have fans anyway.
Aren't they hoping to start having some fans by then? But yes he should rest a lot.
