Don't remember one time a nba player sat out the entire season.
Who said he'd have to sit out the entire season?
The point of a hold out isn't to sit out the entire season. It's to sit out until either the team gives the player what he wants or until the player/his agent figures out the team isn't going to give them what they want.
Why are you trying to address things no one said?
DJ and I.You clearly missed the discussion me and DJ had this morning......
I'll own it. Here it is @trojanfan12.....I thought Harden was serious about wanting to be traded and thought he may not report to training camp to force Houston's hand at trading him ASAP.And he has a net worth of 165 million....I think he could afford sitting out until traded.
I graduated from college years ago and this isn't work....DJ and I.

They have Ish Smith to backup RW.
They have Ish Smith to backup RW.
Ish Smith is a capable backup to RW.....he averaged 11ppg and 5apg when Wall was hurt last season. His numbers were better than Napier and Smith is under contract for this coming season. He signed a 2 year deal with Washington in 2019.my question stands

I agree.....but it's BKS so I wasn't about to beat a dead horse.....we all know how he can get.Sitting out until he's traded doesn't necessarily mean sitting out all year.
In fact, I'd go as far as to say that a player who chooses to hold out, has no intention of sitting out for the entire year. No professional athlete wants to sit out an entire season for a variety of reasons, several of which don't involve money.
The idea is to see who blinks first. If the team does, the player gets what he wants. If they don't, he doesn't.

If im Houston I'll trade him under 2 conditions this season
1) i clearly win the trade
2) trade him to a shitty team and let him rot there the next 3 seasons for being ungrateful. No way am i trading him to Brooklyn or Philly

not enough balls to go around in that scenario...Brooklyn would be hilarious.
No way KD, Kyrie or Harden would be OK being the #3 option.
The chemistry in the locker room would be abysmal.
