He is the best NBA player ever at his age probably...as usual the only competition is MJ (was KAJ this good at age 36?)

Pretty comparable.

Kareem age 36 season: 32.8 mpg, .578 fg, 21.5ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.6apg

Lebron age 36 season (so far): 33.1 mpg, .496 fg, 25.5 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 7.5 apg

The season isn't over and it isn't coincidence they have won 10 of their last 17 games.

He is crucial to their offense.
That has more to do with Curry playing at an elite level and Wiggins playing great bball. He is playing like he is getting $8M/year. There is no way you can spin this

BS.

Green means a lot to their team and GS fans know this. Most NBA fans do.

I think Kendrick Perkins tweet pretty much says it perfectly, he's doing the things that don't show up on the stat sheet, like keeping the ball moving, being the "quarterback" on defense, etc. just like he always has. But, they need him to start doing some of the things that actually show up on the stat sheet.

He's not necessarily playing poorly overall, but like you said, he's not playing up to the level of his salary either.

That is an understatement, he isn’t playing up to the worth of half his contract. He needs greats around him to play well but now we see his defense dropping off too. That contract is looking awful, I’m sure he will improve when Klay comes back but his offense has disappeared

Yeah, exactly and he's still a good defender. Just not as good as he used to be.

Yeah and that's really my point. I'd put the Lakers chances of getting Beal at about 10% and that's being a homer. The real chance is a bit lower. But I just think we've all seen too much happen that wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't to make definitive statements.

I agree. The NBA off-season is arguably the most fun of any major sport. College football signing days are about the only one that comes close, imo.

thats the chance i give it.

Comparable but LeBron clearly superior.

He is. But remember, as the de facto pg, he gets more opportunities. So it's a little closer than it appears.

What I find remarkable is that Lebron is averaging more rebounds than Kareem did. I wasn't surprised by Lebron averaging more points because, like I said, Lebron can call his own number (and has the 3) and obviously Lebron is going to have more assists.

But considering Lebron is a wing, the rebounding is pretty amazing.

And it's not like that was a bad season for Kareem. If you asked just about any 36 year old in league history...they'd be thrilled to average what Kareem did.

Lebron is a damn cyborg. lol

And then he gets triple the assists. He's the leader of a title team, KAJ was not (Magic)

I'm not dragging Kareem just amazed at how good LeBron is at his age with no sign of slowing down. Another data point he holds over MJ.

totally agree.

the LeBron 3 pt shooting cant be underestimated either and how he spaces the floor. As I said last night- him averaging career highs in 3 pt. attempts and % is just insane.

Yep. Edited my post to comment that it's not like Kareem had a bad season or some huge drop off. It's just Lebron.

I'd say James is playing at a better level considering he shoots 3's.

Yeah you think it would average out a bit maybe like 38% but I don’t know...it just seems like another transition to his game. Taking more 3’s making them...then maybe in 2-3 years he will be playing in the post a lot more. He has the plan all figured out already, 3 steps ahead of anyone. Makes you think though, we don’t know when his big decline will happen or if it even will be a big decline bc of his transitioning but I thini he could legimately be a very very good player at 40-41.
Say he plays to this level at 37 and 38. Then transitions again to more post up game, 39 and 40. Who knows what to expect, he could play for 22 seasons.
