no, you'd be excited about not having to pay Russ long term.

But this deal can't happen anyway since it has 2 sign and trade guys in it and you can't combine anyone with a S&T guy (stupid rule, but a rule none the less).

It would just need to happen in December then.

Problem with Kuzma is, and I actually really like him, he's too inconsistent.

With both Lebron and AD out multiple games this season he has the perfect opportunity to show he could step up but never really did. One game he would score 4 points, the next he'd do 30, then back to single digits the following matchup.

In my opinion the Lakers should have tried to get something of real value for him a couple of seasons ago when there was still some uncertainty about his ceiling and teams were willing to risk a trade.

Now he's kinda cemented himself as a rotation player at best.

He needs a consistent role. He's not a spot up shooter like the Lakers are trying to force him to be, playing with Lebron. He has 3 pt range, but it's not his only contribution offensively. He's also become a solid defender, but like many players, loses focus when not involved offensively. Plus, AD's reluctance to play C pushes Kuzma either to ADs backup or to the wing, where he loses some defensive value vs quicker players.

Stupid as fuck. Fire a coach that made adjustments and helped the Bucks win their first title in over 50 years.

There's always a few morons.
He made adjustments, but few actually within the games. He waited too long to move Giannis to C, for example. Starting the finals without pressuring CP3 was horrible too. The talent of the roster won the series more than any coaching decisions IMO.

And his lack of adjustments cost them previous post season series

Exactly. Obviously, the Bucks aren't going to fire him right after winning a title. But that doesn't mean his seat won't heat back up pretty quickly if he continues to be slow to make adjustments (or just doesn't make them). Depending on what happens with a couple of the better Eastern Conference teams, the Bucks may be no better than a 3 or 4 seed next year and may not make it past the 2nd round.

Pfft. That's nothing. I just heard we're getting Bradley Beal.

^^^This^^^

Kuzma gets an unfair rep by people who don't really watch the Lakers. It's basically the same thing that happened to Bosh and Love. It's hard to be the 3rd wheel.

He has definitely been inconsistent and when he had a chance to step up with Lebron and AD out, he mostly didn't.

It seems some of that may be about Schroder. There are starting to be reports that Kuzma and Schroder feuded all last season and that Schroder just isn't very well liked in the locker room. It says something that if the Lakers don't re-sign him, he will be heading to his 4th team in the past 5 or 6 years.

Even better than the Twitter GMs are the fans who get pissed at their team about rumors of deals that haven't happened.

He's safe for a while I would think. Hard to move a championship coach without destroying public opinion at this point. Might be good to bolster his staff a bit instead?

He should be. But you'd have to think his seat was getting warm, especially earlier in the playoffs. He's still a coach who, if not for the Kyrie and Harden injuries, likely gets fired.

Now stated differently, the LA Times is reporting that Lowry, Derozan and Dinwiddie are interested in joining the Lakers. What that entails in terms of contract demands could easily prevent (or at least make difficult) any and all of those players. Of all of them, only Lowry is a good fit IMO (and he's 35). Derozan and Dinwiddie would be disappointing from behind the arc even more than Schroder was.

Before or after they get Dame?

lol

Funny you should ask.

Obviously Lakers fans shouldn't hold our breath (especially considering the source), but Jason McIntyre just said that he thinks the CP3 and Westbrook talk is a smokescreen by the Lakers to hide that they are really going hard after Bradley Beal.

What he had to say about why CP3 and Westbrook are smokescreens made sense...but he didn't say what package the Lakers could send that could actually get Beal. Heck, the only reason they could put together a package to get Westbrook would be because no one else wants to take on his salary.

But Beal? Everyone wants Beal. Unless the package involves AD, just about everyone could beat the Lakers best deal.
