mostly just better than the 2 guys going out.

and basically no rookie is a playoff contributor day 1.

A 23 year old like Chris Duarte may be the answer (via the draft) IMO. Mature, an ideal fit at SG, cheap, and doesn't cost you additional resources to obtain.

Problem is, this is where we are today. Insensitivity is treated like racist remarks. The threshold is so low that there almost isn't one anymore.

This is just like the blackface controversies. Way back, yes blackface was racist as it lampooned the appearance of a black person. A white person dressing up as a famous black person for Halloween shouldn't be even be in the same discussion as an offense. Bad taste? Maybe, but that shouldn't cause anyone to lose their career. Even then, it's applied unevenly. I don't see anyone calling for Robert Downey Jr to be canceled.

people wouldn’t get offended if it wasn’t accurate.

Apparently, this Lakers trading for DeMar DeRozan thing is getting some legs. The thought seems to be that DeRozan can be the 3rd, 20 point per game player the Lakers need. Also, apparently Pop likes Kuzma.

I don't really like it, but it wouldn't be terrible. They would still have to find a way to get a player or 2 that are reliable from 3 because DeRozan ain't him.

Hopefully they'll save that and look for a better move before circling back to that one if they can't get someone better.

I don't like it at all. Do the Lakers not see how the rest of the league is playing? First they continue to bring in old school centers, and now a midrange wing? They'll trade for DeRozan, expect him to space and hit 3s, and he'll fail miserably. Next thing you know they'll be attaching more assets to him to dump him somewhere.

We'll see. It's still just rumor and I haven't seen anything from Woj or Shams, so I wouldn't really consider it credible just yet. I'd think the Lakers would know that they're still going to need a couple of reliable 3 point shooters.

If they could get, for example, a JJ Redick...DeRozans mid-range game could be very effective. Especially with teams having to account for AD and Lebron. The only other way I could see it working is if DeRozan locks himself in the gym all summer and shoots 1,000 3's a day.

I hate to say it because he seems like a good dude and works his ass off but there is literally no good team in the NBA that adding Demar would make better.

Yep.

Ball dominant mid range shooters are hard to fit in with other good players in a way that is helpful.

What Ive been hearing but I don’t like it at all.

Why?

You move Kemba’s contract and get a pick back.

I know at some point the Thunder have to move some of these picks, but they keep making a dollar from 75 cents in all these deals.

Not ideal, but Kemba is a clear upgrade from Kuzma and he fits with LeBron and AD.

then Brad should’ve made this deal.

compared to…whatever that was
