Yeah, don’t get why Cleveland would want Maarkanenen.

Yes, he is young and all that, but what do they envision his role being long term?

Bench big?

Awful lot to invest in two bigs when they drafted another with a 3rd overall pick. I'd imagine it's sort of an asset collection for Cleveland. If Markkanen plays well, as do the other two bigs for Cleveland, they will have some trade options to explore getting better at other areas.

Maybe they believe Mobley can play the 3, 4 or even 5.

So obviously Love won't be there long, if he stays this year he will definitely be gone next year.

21-22
Love $31M
Allen $20M
Markkanen $15M
Mobley $8M

That is a lot of money investing in just bigs but once Love is off the books it won't look bad. I really do think they want to use Mobley in a unique role

that is the thing- i absolutely believe they think Mobley will be able to guard 3's.

and on offense- as long as Markenen can shoot and pass- which he can a little- he can easily play the 3.

Holy shit Mobley's a 3 now? Just because the team added Markkanen? LOL.

I dont think Markkenen can play the 3 and Mobley is even a stretch, maybe some like Nance could bc of his athleticism. I don't like Mark at the 3 though, doesn't make much sense

I don’t get this move by the Cavs.

I get selling nance. But not for mark

Gotta replace Love too. Mark is much younger than Nance and they probably think why not take a chance maybe he can transform into something

Honestly, I haven't watched a lot of Markannen. I just know he is a below average rebounder and below average defender for his size. So I'm not saying I like the trade but with the Love buyout, this makes a little more sense

Maybe.

Even that is a bit of a gamble though.

Is he going to have the minutes/role to be featured and emerge as a strong asset on his current deal?

Lebron needs to send Rich Paul to Cleveland to help get this done and get him to the Lakers.

Then I can say..."See I told you the Lakers would get Love" to Wiggy.

The fact that it's about 4-5 years late is completely beside the point. :heh:

Love nance, but maybe thinking Mobley offers everything they can get from Nance? well, not shooting, but perhaps like Nance he can improve there. Perhaps thinking they need more shooting other than Garland and Sexton?

I mean, I'd be inclined to see if Love can help some over giving him up for nothing (unless he gives a lot back). I also wouldn't say I love the trade and not a home run by any stretch. B-/C+ seems about right for now.

would think it's you or the Clips. Maybe GS or, hell, even Portland

Unless he is happy with one championship and just wants to go back home to Oregon or they offer him a shit ton of money, it's hard to see him going to the Blazers. Kawhi's knee may keep him from going to the Clips.

He would fit in great with the Warriors. With his passing, he could take a role similar to Draymond and he can hit the 3. Their passing would be even more sick.

For the Lakers, he'd be the 3 point sniper they need and could help spread the floor for Lebron, Westbrook and AD.
