They'll be looking to play similarly to what they did in the bubble.

They basically shot about league average from 3 (but were pretty inconsistent) and dominated the paint.

It looks like they want to do the same, but understand that they're going to need to be more consistent from 3 (and a little better than league average), hence the shooters they've signed.
Do you think Avery Bradley is washed?

I know they are keeping a roster spot open for the buyout market.

But, I think bringing in a non-washed Bradley or , a defense and little else, Frank Nkilitina on a non-guaranteed contract might not be a bad idea...at least for camp.

They need a perimeter defender in the worst way

Me too.

But, he won't.

I honestly believe he will buy in.

Seriously, the guy was in no man's land in Washington.

They couldn't get better because his salary was a albatross and they weren't good enough to be much more than cannon fodder in a 1st round knockout.

Now, not only does he have a legit chance to compete for a championship. But, he gets to do it at home.

He's not going to be the reason things go wrong. And by go wrong, I mean they don't win it all.

The Lakers are obviously Championship or Bust. If they lose, it will be because they didn't shoot well enough to overcome their lack of defense.

We can't blame Russ for that because they knew that wasn't in his wheel house when they traded for him.
Russ may have finally found his niche. Being around veteran guys that can make shots and let him run himself into the ground to his hearts content.

Hard to say with Bradley. Folks thought he was washed when the Lakers got him in 2019-20, but he played pretty well. He's only 30, which seems a little young to be washed. Certainly would be worth a look, imo.

If he's got anything left defensively, Vogel should be able to figure out a way to use him.

Even without that,

if you know you have Lebron getting older and AD being injury prone and need a guy to take as much of the load as one person can, name me one other person to add that would have the same effect. Russ has led the league in minutes before, and he may again. He will be asked to be the workhorse that he is, hopefully just a little bit smarter one.

Yeah....and I think he realizes this is his last shot at a title. And I think Janes also realizes at his age he can't handle most of the workload.

He was a beast in a tougher era.

Yeah, that is terrible.

And I completely disagree that the 80s were tougher.

Yeah, hard fouls might have been viewed as incidental play, but that was because it was an era before the Pistons made it common place and it became an issue.

Defense in the mid 80s was not better than defense today. It was still a free flowing, fast paced game.

I think Russ will be a different player and maybe even more focused this upcoming season.
