To me, Pat Bev is the biggest disappointment. I think he took that whole "Dawg off the bench" that comes in and changes the flow of the game to the Clippers by getting in the other teams face, etc. kind of ran its course and sometimes he hurt them more than he helped.
Sometimes?

He was unplayable against the Mavs.

He's all bluster and super annoying.

He went from a gritty guy you don’t want to play to a circus act in the last year or so.
He's a punk.

One that is oft-injured.

Him, Morris and Boogie were too much of a clown car for sustainable success.

But, at least Boogie and Mook were productive.

I actually would love to keep Boogie as a situational big.

Yeah, I have questions for that Fandom.

Why did they give the Frow 100 mil?

Who were they bidding against?

Are they now gonna pay Sexton too?

But, I love their new Rookie and I'm still high on Garland.

Oh.... @WiggyRuss @dtgold88 I was wrong about Sexton, you were right.

He's really good.

But, he's also a huge ball hog.

A under the rim, early Westbrook kinda selfish.
I'll answer in order.....

Because they thought he was worth it and agent seemed to think it was fair for his client.

Not sure but I hear this a lot on RFAs. Many get signed before they hit FA (seems like most) so perhaps it's as simple as team and agent spoke and found a number both could live with? I mean, could ask same of his agent.....why sign before going on the market to see what he'd be offered?

Not sure. My guess is yes. Will it be a max deal? Who knows, but since we are over the cap anyway and stud FAs don't come here does it really matter if he's paid, say, $20-22 mil or $28 mil?....and, sure, possible he could be moved if they find a deal they think helps. No doubt no untouchables on this team. Like most teams.

I like the rookie, too, from what I've heard and what little I saw in Summer League...for whatever that means. Seeing some rumors now they like sexton more and Garland on the block. Unnamed sources, of course.....why it's nuts to believe these rumors as, clearly, someone's sources are lying.

Not sure why you think Sexton is a "huge ballhog". 4.4 apg as a 22-year-old SG? When Garland was out it was 7 apg as his replacement at PG...and that was playing with a number of end of bench/G Leaguers.

Is the kid a star? doubt it. But hard not to like him as only 22, work ethic off charts and has gotten better every year. For whatever it's worth the only players who were equal or better than him in all of the following - ppg, apg, shooting % and 3 pt. % - were Curry, Kawhi, Kyrie, Lavine and Jokic.

Love him.

Which is why I question paying Allen.

I think Mobley can be a better shooting Bam type 5.

Not sure you can pair them long-term.

But, you have plenty of time to figure it out and both Allen and Sexton will be on tradeable deals.

Love is another story...lol

Ya'll gonna have to give him a Kemba buyout.
Everything we see and hear is Mobley will play WITH Allen and playing him at the 4 will be better for him, especially in the early part of his career as he needs to get stronger.

I doubt they'd buy Love out without first seeing how he looks if healthy and with his new teammates. Not sure what the rush would be....but could happen down the road.

Most definitely.

I think all the fuckery in the Clippers lockerrom was the catalyst for the meltdown against Denver. But, Doc's absolute refusal to do anything different with the lineups was the last straw for his Coaching tenure.

How do you ignore it when your best player is pleading with you to make adjustments?

When said player can flee at the end of the next Season?

I blame the players for quitting. But, Doc gets half the blame for his insistence of playing Trezl over Green, Zu.

Lu was sensational as a motivator and as a X's and O's guy.

I admit, I did not believe he was great with the X's and O's.
Hard to know what a guy really is when he just wins with Lebron. I get it. But he took a lot of shit here that was not warranted. One was being Lebron's puppet when that was kooky talk. He was one of the few who would get in Lebron's face and tell him to shut the fuck up....also to stop playing like crap.

Yeah, it's interesting with Love. There are reasons to keep him, especially if the goal is to try to make the playoffs. If he's healthy, his shooting and experience could help a lot. He'd also be a good, albeit expensive, mentor for Mobley.

Plus, if I understand it correctly, the longer they keep him, the lower the buyout will be. They could just be keeping him until his buyout price reaches a level they're comfortable with.

He's an UFA next summer....sounds like a guy I would trade during the season if I'm the Clippers

Yeah, I think a team looking for a "sparkplug" that will bring some attitude will be calling the Clips about him before the deadline. If he can tone it back down a little. I think he'd fit with the Heat. That's a team of "Dawgs". Although, the Heat don't really need a sparkplug. Not as long as they have Jimmy.

No doubt.

He played like absolute shit.

He deserves to be held accountable.

Same goes for this year.

He had a few rough games and I was like...here we fucking go again with this guy.

But, he turned it around and actually EXCELLED when Kawhi went down.

So, just like I shit on him for his failures, I praise him for his successes.

He's a polarizing guy for some.

So, I'm not trying to convince anyone.

In my eyes, he redeemed himself.
.

.

No doubt he played damn good once Kawhi went down. What's the time table for his return?

Not sure about the buyout info. I'm sure if it comes to it they could agree on something but, as mentioned, what would be the rush? No games still for, what, a couple months?

Not sure what's true about him as a mentor. I've never heard a teammate actually say anything bad about him that I can recall. At least here. worst I've seen is Sexton liking a tweet saying he's stealing money and something tells me they all joke about that (including Love). Sexton and Garland also refer to him as a HOFer and speak glowingly how he helps when he's out there.

Have to say been watching Mobley when he played (what else was there to see, really?). Again, Summer League, so who knows but saw glimpses that he has the dribbling and passing ability to almost be a 7-0 wing. sure easier to dribble and take the ball up against these guys but thinking playing with better players will also help him.

So does Davis....

So does Kyrie....

So does Klay.....

That goes without saying.

Here's the thing: He won't.

Not by traditional standards.

60 games per year is a wet dream.

Yeah, they need to tread water and hope they get him back in time to be in shape for the playoffs.

It'll be interesting to see what happens this year. Before he signed the extension, the talking heads were all saying that he would do a 1 year deal and would sit out the entire year. Now that he signed a longer deal, they're saying he will play, but no one is saying when.

I'd expect it will be pretty late in the season if he does,

I honestly don't see him playing at all this year.

I think he red shirts it like Durant does.

If anything, it will be like what @trojanfan12 said.

He comes back at the ass end of the year.

But, why risk it if the Clippers are like the 6-10 seed in the play in tourney?
