I think that was just the market for Allen, or at least what is thought to be. Apparently, quite of few teams were interested but I’m sure we are talking around $20M/year

Sexton has improved his vision his last couple years but Garland is already that guy so questions about the duo are certainly not out of the question. We will see.

What do you think about Mobley?
Love him.

Which is why I question paying Allen.

I think Mobley can be a better shooting Bam type 5.

Not sure you can pair them long-term.

But, you have plenty of time to figure it out and both Allen and Sexton will be on tradeable deals.

Love is another story...lol

Ya'll gonna have to give him a Kemba buyout.

Yeah, I'm a realist.

It's much easier to play with no pressure.

But, what he did is not NOTHING when you take the team, and his own, history into account.

* not implying that's what you are saying *

The Clippers went out like Chumps in the bubble.

Shameful shit.

He fought back this time.

While it isn't EVERYTHING, It is an important step for his, and Clippers fans, psyche....lol

Agree 100%. I've always been a PG fan, even when he was with the Pacers. I wanted the Lakers to get him in the worst way when it looked like they might get him in FA...then he spent the next couple of seasons or so making me glad they didn't.

What he did last year in the playoffs was huge for him personally and for the Clips organizationally because they have a lot of cap space tied up in him.

We'll never know because, its Kawhi and dude wouldn't say shit if he had a mouthful of it, but I'd be willing to bet that PGs play in last years playoffs is at least part of why Kawhi went ahead and signed long term instead of going the short deal route. I'm sure that, similar to AD with the Lakers, his injury history had something to do with it too. But PG's play certainly helped.

*see Ty Lue after going down 2-0 twice to win a series.

One thing that I think can be put to bed are questions about Lue's ability to coach. He wasn't just adjusting between halves and games, it seemed like he was adjusting from play to play some of the time.

Yep.

He did all that.

In fairness, Doc was shit at making adjustments.

*see Ty Lue after going down 2-0 twice to win a series.

Just ask the 76ers.

George is not the only player to make ridiculous proclamations.

He earned the vitriol because he choked.

He earned my respect because he did the opposite this time when he would usually fold like a lawn chair.

The only good thing I can really say about Doc's playoff coaching is at least he guided the Celtics to the title back in '08. Questioning some of his in-game adjustments is legit. But a guy like PG13 that's ringless isn't in a position to give himself a nickname or publicly question his former coach after a no so great playoff run two seasons ago.

Honestly, I don't know that he'd have had issues with the Lakers to the same magnitude.

George is fragile. He wants and needs to be liked, accepted.

I don't think he anticipated the level of vitriol he would receive from joining the Clippers.

Imo, he gets so much because he is a easy target. Lakers fans were made at Kawhi. But, he's a fricking robot and none of it sticks to him. George doesn't have that.

Imagine being mentally fragile and having more of your oppositions fans at your home games?

We need him to embrace the villain role like Reggie Miller.

But, he isn't built like that.

I don't know if everyone knows this. But, the best thing the Clippers did for George was to give him Reggie Jackson.

That was his turning point. When shit got rough, Reggie came through and George responded. That's his best friend and he needed him mentally and to save us on the court, more than once.

Terrance Mann was great too.

PS. Rondo is washed..lol

Meh.

Whatever floats your boat.

Doc is not beyond reproach.

Look at his history with players.

Outside of the Chip Team in Beantown, he has a long list of former players that despise him.

If Pg's worst career misstep is giving himself an unearned nickname, I'm good with that.

As long as Ruben Patterson's " Kobe Stopper " lives on in infamy, George is safe.

I think the problem for Rondo was how much his role changed. I think the Clips got him to play the same role he played for the Lakers. Playing most of his minutes later in games when you need that veteran decision and shot making. I got worried when they got Rondo because I figured he'd solve their late game execution issue. But he ended up having to play too much, imo.

Most definitely.

I think all the fuckery in the Clippers lockerrom was the catalyst for the meltdown against Denver. But, Doc's absolute refusal to do anything different with the lineups was the last straw for his Coaching tenure.

How do you ignore it when your best player is pleading with you to make adjustments?

When said player can flee at the end of the next Season?

I blame the players for quitting. But, Doc gets half the blame for his insistence of playing Trezl over Green, Zu.

Lu was sensational as a motivator and as a X's and O's guy.

I admit, I did not believe he was great with the X's and O's.

I think one of him or Bev will be gone soon.

Reggie is the Starter and they are in love with that Rookie, Jason Preston.

How many PG's will they carry?

Preston is nowhere near ready. So, maybe they send him to Aqua Caliente all year.

Still, Kawhi was a free agent. So, I don't think we get the 9 mil injury exception. So, money and roster spots will be tight.

To me, Pat Bev is the biggest disappointment. I think he took that whole "Dawg off the bench" that comes in and changes the flow of the game to the Clippers by getting in the other teams face, etc. too far and kind of ran its course and sometimes he hurt them more than he helped.

He's an UFA next summer....sounds like a guy I would trade during the season if I'm the Clippers

Meh, he had zero pressure on him this past playoffs. As soon as they lost Kawhi, any chances at a title were gone.

He got everything run through him and as long as he didn't completely suck, no one was going to exactly be blaming him for the Clips not getting out of the West.

Don't get me wrong, he played well and deserves credit. But until he performs like that with a healthy Kawhi and pressure to win a title...the Playoff P nickname will be ironic.
This.

Yeah, guys like that are great, but in limited roles. Too much and it starts being counterproductive because opponents figure it out and stop responding.

Then the warts on their game start to show and they start picking up silly fouls, etc.

He went from a gritty guy you don’t want to play to a circus act in the last year or so.

Yes. That exactly. Better stated than what I put.

Kind of went from fans of opposing teams saying "I hate that guy" to "Put Pat Bev back in". lol

He's the kinda guy that can dish it out, but can't stand the heat.

That ridiculous push in CP3s back proves it

I agree. But I don't recall saying he wasn't. I hold PG-13 accountable for his own lousy play two years ago in the playoffs against the Mavs when he shot 34.6% from the field and 27% from downtown.

And he should have played better in game 7 of that Nuggets series.

his numbers: 4-16 (2-11 from downtown) / in that deciding game he had more TO's (5) than buckets

Doc's an overrated coach, there's no doubt about that. But I can't blame him for Playoff P's game 7 no-show.

And Ruben Patterson's "Kobe stopper". Talk about a blast from the past. Back in the day didn't Gerald Wilkins call himself the "Jordan stopper"?

No doubt.

He played like absolute shit.

He deserves to be held accountable.

Same goes for this year.

He had a few rough games and I was like...here we fucking go again with this guy.

But, he turned it around and actually EXCELLED when Kawhi went down.

So, just like I shit on him for his failures, I praise him for his successes.

He's a polarizing guy for some.

So, I'm not trying to convince anyone.

In my eyes, he redeemed himself.
