1 year is a long time? lol
how many 35 year old guys do you know that no one signs for a year and then come back?

to Melo's credit- he got in better shape, and accepted being a role player- which allowed him to keep his career alive when it looked like it was over.

If Melo had signed with the Cavs.....

Wiggy: "Solid veteran presence and he can still score."
he is a solid veteran presence- and he can still score- but I certainly would not want him as my 4th best player at the age of 37, basically useless on defense and only playing over 25 minutes a game if something goes terribly wrong.

big difference between that and 4th best player on the lakers
right. Its one of the craziest things- any type of nuance is interpreted as a personal shot and that I think the player sucks and is worthless. Sometimes I wonder if people read the posts.

With guys like James, AD, and Westbrook.....he is going to get wide open looks.....and the last 2 seasons in Portland were his best 3 point shooting since 2014 (Knicks)......with the guys they had on Portland. With the Lakers big 3 his looks will even be better.
But also…you’re a Homer and there’s no integrity to any opinion you express when it comes to the Lakers. It’s a gamble to project that a 37 year old guy is going to maintain a level of play that he had in Portland. Melo’s liability as a defender is not going to be seen on a roster with Dame McCollum and others who are shitty defenders. The offense has 3 or 4 plus matchups to exploit against that group. But when you play him with RW LeBron and Brow it becomes pretty damn clear who the offense is gonna target to exploit. Vogel will become quickly frustrated with Melo’s game. Come playoff time he will be reduced to being a bench guy that plays against 2nd units. The Lakers will be working the phones at the deadlines to address what looks like a piece meal very incomplete roster that doesn’t fit Vogel ball.

Dennis would be the Lakers 4th best had he came back. Probably 3rd best because i doubt Russ is a Lakers if Dennis stayed

he would easily be the lakers 4.

But he doubles up on Russ so I get not keeping him. Although I might’ve for depth and a Trade later in the year

My guess is if Dennis stayed then Hield is in LA instead of Russ

honestly- id much rather have Schroeder and Hield.

I actually really liked the Schroeder signing for the Lakers last year- and had plenty of posts about it- he plays good D, can control the offense, and get to the rim and make some plays. He got in a little over his head for sure- but hes 27 and is in his prime and I think would have learned from some mistakes.

RW is such an all in move that limits you so many other places. If he is not good or gets hurt there is just not much place to go.

honestly i think its probably howard. He is still pretty consistent.

Ariza is really getting up there. Howard is 35 too- but big men seem to age a little better than wings.

We'll see. He'll likely see more open shots than he's ever seen in his career and shooting ability is the last thing a player loses.
That was my point.....the last 2 years in Portland he turned into a really good outside shooter......on the Lakers the looks will be even better with AD, James and RW.
