He seems similar to Ayton but better on defense

i mean there's something to getting to the finals i guess. thing is no one outside of your own fan base is gonna get hyped over being a runner-up. if we talked about how many times the Lakers have simply been to the finals the number nearly doubles their current amount of O'Briens...
Hell, had Lebron never come here we might not even be the Kings.....but he did.

And while I was thrilled to see a title I never thought I'd see the cavs are my 4th choice to see win a title (not that anyone let me decide).

I will say I’ve been skeptic about the previous 3 draft picks (none in top 3) but Mobley is going to be different imo. I will own it if I am wrong but he reminds me a lot of AD in college. We will see.

The fact is you have to not only find a star but you need to build around him so the other 3 picks are just as important. One of those guys is also going to need to be an AS type of player

No doubt to be more than just solid playoff team Mobley will need to live up to hype AND another has to be an all star - from what many are saying it seems best chance might be Garland.....but I wont rule out the 22-year-old Sexton who has worked his ass off and improved every season.

If all three pan out then they have something brewing, not too mention if Okoro can be a 3 and D type of player.

I know for a fact- whether I was the highest of contenders or the lowest of sad sacks- Id take Evan Mobley and his potential over anyone one hte Heat.

I would too.

But that doesn’t much matter. You got 7 years to build a contender before he starts asking for a trade.

Good luck.

If they do anything it won’t be till the deadline or next offseason. No point in trading him in year 3 of his contract
It lets you not have to take on bad contracts. Just picks or prospect type players

I disagree on the worst odds. Do you think either Washington or Portland got better? I think they arguably got worse (especially in Washington’s case). They have two chances for a guy to force themselves out, not 1. Now add in the idea that there are few contenders that can put together a package that can beat what the Sixers put together with a Simmons deal without diminishing why Dame and Beal would want to go there.

But even if you don’t see all of that and still think it’s not likely to happen…he’s not Fucking around to be a great regular season team. He’s doing this to compete for a title. Getting back Fox Hield and picks or getting back LaVert Brogdan and picks etc…doesn’t change Philly’s ability to truly compete for a title. Adding Dame or Beal does.

Where am I off here?

You aren’t.

Morey is famous for making big bold moves.

Sometimes the boldest move is to wait it out.

I bet Simmons and Maxey plus 2-3 1st round picks gets it done. I’m not sure that there is another contender that Dame would consider that can beat that. Cs can do something with Smart and Jaylen Brown and picks that would be better…but is that squad in Boston with Tatum Dame and role players better than the Bucks Nets or even the Hawks or a Sixers squad that still has Simmons? I would say not.

Warriors are the only good team that could possibly beat that offer, IMO.
