I mean, there are solid reasons for neither side to do that.

The Lakers need 3 point shooting and DeRozan is a career 28% from 3.

DeRozan would be looking at a pay cut from a little over $20 million to a little over $2 million.

The Lakers would probably offer him the TMLE which is $5.9m but still a heck of a paycut.

I don’t think he’d get $20m in free agency from anyone though, more likely between $13-16m

Clock is ticking for him however. If he’s really that serious about coming home and wanting the best chance to win a title, the Lakers are most likely his best option.

Iggy doesn’t offer much anymore but he can still give some nice minutes off the bench. Still a good defender and spark at times
