Nebraska lands commitment from edge Patrick Payton
Payton totaled 17.5 sacks as a junior at Miami High. That included a five-sack performance against Miami Columbus, who went on to win an 8A state title.
Nebraska picks up pledge from 2021 LB out of Miami
I don't worry about Nebraska recruiting now.
Scott Frost's strategy has always been to get the players to campus for game day since the Nebraska Game Day is pretty spectacular, compared to 100 other Division I schools.
Whereas, a school like Minnesota needs to hard sell and do virtual tours and pressure the kids to commit because their game day experience is not as good. It might get pretty good if Fleck continues his upward trajectory though. The fans in Minneapolis are not die hard Gopher fans though. If Minnesota starts losing games, the stadium will be back to 1/2 empty.
Now, if there is no season in 2020, then Scott Frost is completely screwed because there won't be any game day experiences. If that happens, then I will worry about Nebraska recruiting.
What about a reduced stadium capacity game day?

So Frost is going to be able to flip Avante Dickerson and other in state talent that has chosen to go elsewhere back?
You can be sure that Avante has seen many Nebraska "game days".
.
Where did I say anything about flipping recruits?
I am talking about the Scott Frost methodology of recruiting. He has stated that himself. He wants the recruits to see Nebraska.
Yes, Avante has seen Nebraska. Do a comparison. No school names in there, but Nebraska's side by side comparisons are not so good.
PJ Fleck
2014 8-5 had the highest rated recruiting class in the MAC, lost bowl game
2015 7-5 had the highest rated recruiting class in the MAC, won bowl game
2016 13-1 had the highest rated recruiting class in the MAC, lost bowl game
2017 5-7 first year at the school
2018 7-6 won their bowl game over Georgia Tech
2019 11-2 won their bowl game over Auburn
PJ Fleck has a proven recruiting method.
2018 PJ Fleck fired his defensive coordinator
PJ Fleck has had 5 of 6 winning seasons.
A PJ Fleck team has gone bowling five out of the last six years.
2020 NFL Draft PJ Fleck had five players drafted, One was an all American defensive back
2020 NFL Draft Scott Frost has two players drafted, both defensive lineman.
If a recruit uses those comparisons to Nebraska, why wouldn't a recruit pick Minnesota?
As always, once Scott Frost starts winning the in-state recruits will be choosing Nebraska, for the most part.
