McCullers left yesterday’s game early for HOU with an arm issue. If he can’t go, that is a huge loss for the Astros. Especially with the need for good pitching at such a premium in this series.

The Astros pretty much dominated the Red Sox when they met during the regular season. But so did TB and we saw how that played out. This should be a great series.

Chris Sale will start Game 1 of the ALCS against the Astros.​

Sale will take the ball on Friday night for the opener of the best-of-seven series at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Nathan Eovaldi draws the starting assignment for Game 2 on Saturday afternoon. The 32-year-old lefty was shelled for five runs over one inning of work in his last postseason start against the Rays in Game 2 of the ALDS last week. He'll aim to rebound as the Red Sox attempt to make it back to the World Series for the second time in the last four years.

I guess Cora sees/knows a lot more than we do, but Sale has just never been good in the postseason. I’m with you on the over. These 2 offenses are going to slug it out.

I guess I haven't been paying too close attention.. I did not know Eovaldi's K/BB was so good. Second in AL to Cole.

The Red Sox have added Darwinzon Hernandez and Hirokazu Sawamura to their ALCS roster.​

They will replace Matt Barnes and Austin Davis. Barnes was not on the team's Wild Card roster and the former closer was shaky in his lone ALDS appearance, so the Red Sox felt they couldn't afford to have him active.
