So you go from having no answer to making shit up?

When did I say they are right where they should be?

I have said that what is going on with the Lakers isn't about Vogel, because it isn't.

A part of it is. Roster construction isn't on him. The ability to make changes on the fly is coaching? The team frequently coming out looking like ass to start the game or 2nd half is coaching also.

Has he done anything to help the defense? Did he realize most of these guys can't stay in front of man so let's try to implement a zone? How about lets try a little full court press here and there so when the offense get into their offense, they may have only 14 or 15 seconds to work with

So, just keep getting blown out?

This is not Stephen Silas coaching the Dogshit Rockets.

You have LeBron James and you can't beat the Clippers...

You can't beat the Rockets...

You cant beat the Pelicans....

You can't beat anyone unless LeBron goes thermonuclear.

AD being out is like Chris Paul being out...

It's a every season event.

Every single team in the NBA has had guys out.

They don't quit in the first quarter at home like the Lakers.

...but they can beat the Warriors? It's effort, and this team gave up long ago. They only get up for games once a week or so.

It's a good thing there aren't a lot of youngsters on this team; they would be getting horrible examples to follow from these vets. Reaves won't be spoiled, as he plays hard regardless. Lebron should be better than this (notably with defensive effort) and demand better from his teammates.

Oh, I agree he'll be gone. Spo is the only coach who survived Lebron and he only was able to because of Riley. But Vogel isn't a bad coach and last I checked, Spo, Pop and Kerr aren't available. So, if you can't get a coach with the cache' to stand up to Lebron, you're basically just rearranging the furniture and claiming you bought all new stuff.
Yup, we're in agreement.

Lakers should be better than their record. He did not get the best out of this roster. 10 games under .500 is not the best they could have gotten out of this group
They should be better for sure. But, as I mentioned in my previous post - Lebron's not bought in. That team goes as Lebron goes. Good luck getting max potential out of your roster when you don't have Lebron's buy-in.

If Kidd had still been an assistant on the sideline, the change likely would've been made already. They don't really have the right option in house, and who are you going to bring in at this point to make a difference? Change will be made this summer IMO.

Except you are acting like this team hasn't been decimated by injuries. 10 players that were expected to be in the rotation to some degree have missed a combined 229 games. I didn't even count guys like Bazemore and Ellington who have played like ass every time they've been in.

If they just had AD and Lebron both healthy therough all of this, no one would be talking about firing Vogel.

Good win for Denver.

Both big men proved MVP worthy in their own ways.

Back to back probably the difference in the end.

Yep, they played more or less to a draw, both generating about the same number of points, with Embiid scoring more, but Jokic assisting and rebounding more to even it out. Jokic makes that late erratic shot after getting bumped and that more or less sealed the win.

And outside of everything else...that is the heart of the problem. If AD is healthy this whole time, it's likely that we're just discussing whether the Lakers will be a top 4 seed or not and whether or not their seeding matters.

Silver lining to this season - you know AD's not going to be the guy that's going to be the face of the franchise moving forward. Having said that, it presents another problem as well, now you have to find a new face of the franchise post-Lebron.

After next season, the Lakers will have in the neighborhood of $100 million coming off the books. Wiggy is good on the cap and if memory serves, he said that would give them about $92 million in cap space.

If they're smart, they'll get a guy who can be a 1 (or at least a 1b) and then surround him and AD with some solid players and have a good bench.

I'm kind of at the point where I figure, they got the title that you get with Lebron and since I am skeptical that they can actually move Westbrook in the off-season (though they will try), I just want them to get through this year and next, then see what they can put around AD with that cap space.

Yeah, Bird Rights will eat up some of the cap space, until those guys are re-signed or they've moved to other teams. But $92 mil is nice. I just don't know if I want to form a team around AD. When healthy, he's a top 10 player; but he's never healthy. It's risky how to form a team around AD that would be consistent. Because he'd be a 1a or 1b on a team, where you can't afford to have him out as long as he is consistently.

True, but there really isn't another option. They can try to trade him, but right now, they couldn't even get back anything equal to what they gave up to get him.

To change that, he'd have to come back soon, play the rest of this season with no more issues and then play at least 75 games next season...and if he does that, maybe you decide you don't need to move him. lol

Yes. Lebron has checked out and is just trying toget his stats.

Believe it or not...it's not always the coaches fault

They had a shit ton of injuries last seasson to and were up 2-1 on the Suns when AD got hurt...or are we just going to forget about that?

The injuries last season were part of the logic behind getting Westbrook. He was supposed to be able to take over and keep them from bottoming out.
Dude, I am perfectly capable of seeing there is some shared blame here.

It's not all on Vogel.

2/3 of the blame goes to other issues.

But, stop acting like we are talking about Phil Jackson, Red or John Wooden.

This guy was your 3rd choice.

He's a average overall coach who has a good reputation for defense.

Nothing more.

The Lakers might not have had to overcome his blunders to win despite him.

But, they most certainly didn't win a championship because of him.

He's a nuttered puppy who simply kisses Lebron's ring.

It's not rocket science why his team quit him.

They need to get through the season and then sit down and assess everything. Just like they supposedly do after every season. If during that time, they decide Vogel needs to go...fine. But I think if they do an honest assessment, they'll find that they gave Lebron and Klutch too much say and that is what they need to fix.
Yep.
