How do you know if you don't try?

We have undeniable proof of where doing absolutely nothing leads.

Pop and Riley aren't fixing this, not this season. If they want to try to change anything...the players need to start earning their money by at least playing hard. They all talk about "loving the game". Prove it.

I don't think Vogel has anything to do with this. They're pouting because Lebron and Klutch got told by Jeanie that they made this bed and can lie in it.

Who's job is it to have the team prepared to play at the start of games?

The Coach.

If they are pouting and tuning him out, they don't respect him.

If they don't respect him, he has to go.

Y'all not just losing games down the stretch. You are getting blown out at the start.

That kinda falls on the coach's shoulders.

It's obvious we both are dug in and nothing either of us says is going to sway the other.

I'm good with that.

As for Pop and Riley?

For better or worse, they would not be in this situation to begin with.

Riley stood up to Prime Lebron and Klutch.

The Spurs traded Prime Kawhi when he asked out because he didn't like/agree with their decisions re his Injuries.

The Lakers grabbed their ankles to get #17.

Now that they control Lebron's fate, looks like they are less inclined to do so anymore.

Still, this is a mess of their own making.

And yet, I haven't seen any players say anything. This has nothing to do with Vogel. This about Klutch and the FO. Klutch isn't used to having their shit dumped right back in their lap.

Vogel is just caught in the middle. He'll likely be the fall guy, but none of this is on him. Another coach isn't going to make a difference. Only changing the roster and getting AD back healthy will change anything.

And that may not even be fixable in the off-season if Westbrook opts in on that $47 million, which he will do, of course. He'd be stupid not to.

So, a team that goes down 30-6 in the first quarter of a home game has nothing to do with the Coach?

Nothing?

This is all about a Klutch power struggle?

Was it all about a power struggle early in the Season when you were losing?

Because, this isn't new.

The Lakers have been bad since last Season.

Every team has injuries.

You had Caruso, Kuz, Bron, Shroeder, Trezl last year and you barely made the playoffs.

So, two completely different rosters under achieve and it has nothing to do with the Coach?

Yeah, no.

He's a decent Coach at best and he as a roster full of players tat don't respect him.

Yes. Lebron has checked out and is just trying toget his stats.

Believe it or not...it's not always the coaches fault

They had a shit ton of injuries last seasson to and were up 2-1 on the Suns when AD got hurt...or are we just going to forget about that?

The injuries last season were part of the logic behind getting Westbrook. He was supposed to be able to take over and keep them from bottoming out.

@Mecca makes a lot of valid points. Having said that, if Lebron's not bought in, the rest of the roster won't follow suit. You'd have to be an elite established coach to turn that thing in LA around; only Pop, Spo and maybe Kerr have any type of cache to stand up to Lebron in terms of active coaches given their respective resumes. Vogel's not in the same league as those guys. In the end, he'll be gone.

Oh, I agree he'll be gone. Spo is the only coach who survived Lebron and he only was able to because of Riley. But Vogel isn't a bad coach and last I checked, Spo, Pop and Kerr aren't available. So, if you can't get a coach with the cache' to stand up to Lebron, you're basically just rearranging the furniture and claiming you bought all new stuff.

Yeah they should not even consider vogel for next season. Whenever their season end (assuming it happens in play in or round 1) then he should be gone the following day.

I get he is not to blame for the roster but as a coach you must be able to get the most out of your roster and he has not done that.
Let’s be serious here, Lebron is not going to play for a coach that tries much out of the norm, not at this point in his career. Spoelstra was the last guy he played for with much of a backbone.

What roster was he supposed to get the best out of?

I looked a 10 players who were expected to be in the rotation at the start of the season. Those players have missed a combined 229 games in a season that is 68 games old.

The depth they had was sent away in the trade for Westbrook and the guys they brought in that were supposed to provide the depth have either sucked or been unavailable. If not for Malik Monk, Austin Reaves and a little bit of Stanley Johnson things would be even worse.

Lakers should be better than their record. He did not get the best out of this roster. 10 games under .500 is not the best they could have gotten out of this group

I actually was going to go with Van Fleet and Barnes but then saw Van Fleet was already 28 years old. lol.

right NOW- maybe id take Young and Collins- not really- but I can see the argument I guess

long term- no way---- Mobley is going to pass up Garland and be unstoppable before long.

Towns and Edwards- right now those guys---- but like I said- Mobley is going to go nutso sometime in the next 2-3 years.

What's the criteria for young players?

I would always go highest upside when picking combo's. Mobley and Garland look like legit perennial all-star candidates. KAT and Edwards I would have at the top for combined strength. Ja though by himself could be considered the top.

If we're going duo's under 25 I think a case can be made for Bam and Herro to be put on the list. I thought Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga might be on the outside looking in, but at least noteworthy.

Also Luka's only 23. So just like Cade it could be Luka and anyone.

So you have no answer.

You're the only one in the world saying the lakers are right where they should be. I don't have time to argue with silly people. Lakers should not be 10 games under .500. Not going to waste my time arguing with someone who saying they should be. Vogel did not get the most out of this group

He's not even trying on defense.

He turned the ball over and continued to run to the other end of the court while the Raps converted a dunk.

What the fuck, Lebron?

They're just playing out the string. Lebron and AD try to say the right things about playoffs, but even if they hold onto a spot in the play-in, they aren't going to be in for long. Lebron is playing to chase KAJ and nothing more.

Scoring 12 points in the first quarter at home?

Totally quit and have tuned out the coach and each other.

Again: Not blaming Vogel.

But, you can't change the roster.

So, change the voice.

Doesn't fix enough this year. But as soon as their season ends? Canned.

So you go from having no answer to making shit up?

When did I say they are right where they should be?

I have said that what is going on with the Lakers isn't about Vogel, because it isn't.
