In all likelihood, I will concede to LeBron being a great player as he had a better set of skills combined, where Kobe was more limited in some areas. Kobe has 5 and LeBron has 4, I doubt that LeBron can get one more without a miracle recover by Davis in the health department and better role players... LeBron is quickly running out of time

You really need to stop with the ring nonsense. If rings are the only way to judge players then...

Robert Horry (7 rings) > MJ (6 rings)

James Worthy (3 rings) > Dr. J (one ring)

Bill Laimbeer (2 rings) > Ewing (no rings)

Adam Morrison (one ring) > Barkley (no rings)

Darko Milicic (one ring) > Melo (no rings)

JR Smith (2 rings) > Reggie Miller (no rings)

Finals MVP's: LeBron 4 / Kobe 2

League MVP's: LeBron 4 / Kobe 1

Seasons averaging at least 25 ppg.

LeBron: 18 straight seasons (isn't that an all time record?)

Kobe: 12 total (9 in a row from '04-'05 to '12-'13)

Another lineup change for the Lakers. Vogel really doesn't have a clue.

Monk back starting and Howard back to the bench.

You guys think Vogel know he's getting fired?

Howard only starts against conventional bigs.

Kwame actually had a stretch of games where he was somewhat decent there a month or so before he got traded. Russ is just out here stealing money

Yeah, they got Kwame post-hype, so he was just a usable big (and trade fodder for Gasol). All's good with Kwame in Laker world.

Sad part is they might roll with him for next season to play out his contract (all time low trade value) while they could trade AD and James since they could bring back more than RW would.

Sorry, don't see any of that happening. Trading AD would be at his lowest value, Lebron is going nowhere, and if Russ can't be traded, he should be waived. He's completely unreliable.

What kinda baby back bullshit is this?!?!?

You treat your players to well get out of the league?

Apparently it violates the CBA because not all teams can afford to charter flights.

But yeah, that would be a pretty stupid reason to kick a team out of the league.

I agree with what Cowherd said yesterday...If you buy a professional sports team, but can't afford to pay for chartered flights...maybe you don't need to be buying a team?

They are.. LeBron forced them to trade good assets for Westbrook and it blew up in his face

Most of those assets were earmarked for a Hield trade. That could've helped, but it doesn't magically fix this Lakers team either. Biggest issue to me other than Westbrook? AD's inability to get himself in better game shape to stay healthy. Stop bulking up and instead strengthen that core and get lean. After that, it's a general lack of guys that can get their own shot and defend.

Lebron does seem to take possessions off both offensively and defensively, but I can deal with that at his age. I hate the offensive possessions where he just holds the ball then forces up a jumper.

But for real though, he's soooooooooooo bad. For a player of his supposed stature and talents, he barely can put up the impact of a low level starter/rotation player. Lakers, in spite of their shittiness, could have actually won that game tonight if he could actually contribute anything close to what people have in the minds of who Russell Westbrook is. Instead, he chucks up ugly shots, sulks and exerts little to no effort all game. He's making a case for worst Laker of all time

Saw a stat last night that shows his +/- as something like -3.

The eye sometimes pulls tricks on you bc if you look at the numbers Lebron is actually the most clutch player in the postseeason when comparing Mj, Kobe and Lebron. Sure there are different circumstances where MJ is top dog but Kobe is always number 3 when talking about clutch in almost every circumstance, it isn't close. If we are talking about elimination games Lebron was also one of the best.

I can tell you Kobe's numbers aren't close to MJ and Lebron as far as "clutch", postseason. Haven't looked at regular season numbers but why bother if you are talking about rings...rings has little to do with it considering if you look at who Lebron had in his 1st appearance and his 4th appearance on his 2nd stint in CLE. He willed those teams.

Jordan vs. LeBron Clutch Shots Postseason

Field GoalsField Goal %Buzzer Beaters
Jordan5-1145.5%3
LeBron7-1546.7%5

Not a class of his own, Jordan is actually close behind (and won many of his playoff games by large margins, so fewer clutch shots needed).

These are just postseason numbers, not sure why regular season is being omitted.

I love him him but he is part of the problem.

There are 3 parts to the Lakers issues.

1-RW has been really bad.
2-Injuries.
3-Vogel's subbing patterns and using 30 different starting lineups. Not saying it is all on him but those 3 have all played a factor in this season.

Yeah...that's truly sad.
Not to mention it's happened in his home town.
That said, he's not the only one to blame for their downfall.

Yeah, Russ is who is and everyone knew that going in. Lebron, AD and Westbrook all thought they could make it work.

Instead, it's turned into the fable about the scorpion and the frog.

If you only have 1 playoff trip that resulted in a title out of 4 years, that has to be deemed a failure, right?

For the Lakers, yes. For just about every other franchise? Legendary.

Well, it is the WNBA which has struggled monetarily. However, considering kicking out 1 team out of a league of 12 is ludicrous, especially for a violation like this.

You gotta stop pretending that the Lakers roster issues are all on LeBron. Yes he does deserve some of the blame. But so does Lakers management.

Nah, this is on Lebron. It's the roster he wanted and no GM is saying no in that situation.

Hopefully, this either convinces Lebron that he's not a good GM or it now puts the Lakers in position to be able to tell him to go sit down and let the FO handle the roster.
