Those numbers have easily been debunked. The main person driving that narrative awhile back was Skip Bayless. The national media followed his lead given his influence on sports debates. When you started diving in, you saw Lebron's PER in the clutch was actually pretty good, and beat out Kobe's. Fast forward to present day, and it's fair to say that Lebron's been more "clutch" over his career than Kobe.Well for me, Kobe was the best closer of all time, and for most of Lebron s career they used to have a joke that if ask for change for a dollar that you will get back three quarters only because Lebron is not the greatest closer by any means
On the other hand, Kobe was a selfish player with poor distribution skills and took too damned many shots. My personal observation was that when took too many shots , the Lakers usually lost. That threshold was usually around 22 to 27 shots. Lebron, however has better distribution skills, makes others better.
Kobe on the hand was a slightly better on defense
If you find that you're in a debate, and I'm having to defend Lebron, you're losing. I've been one of the most critical posters of Lebron, especially in the last couple of years.
