What is your criteria for a true big man? Your list lacks consistency.

Bam is 6'9, 255. Dray is 6'6, 230.
Who knows these days? Some people have Giannis as a big man. Lebron is a big man this year if we are going by position. I just go by their style of play but in that case Draymond is more of a SF but he plays PF. I was thinking about leaving him off for this reason but like I said, didn't think about the list too hard.

Weird having Gobert above AD and that could change pretty easily when AD comes back but he hasn't been the same player this year and Gobert is probably the best defensive player in the NBA, easily the best big man defensively. When AD is on his game, he is a top 3 defensive big man and top 3 offensively.

It's gotten really murky these days in terms of big man roles. Lakers have essentially been playing without a PF or C since AD went down (with only sporadic play by Dwight). Guys like Melo and Lebron are only playing as bigs in these odd circumstances.

I would DEFINITELY put Towns over Bam.

What Towns is doing is pretty incredible. Have you seen how his 3 pt shooting is? He is obviously not the defender Bam is- but he has SOOOOOO much more responsibility for that team its ridiculous. Bam benefits from basically being a guy operating in the background.

I think there's definitely an argument to be made. However defense is very important and even though KAT has gotten a little better, Bam still dwarfs him there. But there's also a gap on offense between the two as well in KAT's favor.

I think both are better suited as #2 options, it just depends on who your #1 is that makes the difference for me on who I'm going with.

Wiggy doesn't value defense.

if you switched Towns and Bam - you think the Twolves are 18-15 in games he plays? I dont.

its more about leadership. If Towns elite offense and Bams elite defense equals out. I take Towns becuase he shoulders so much more responsiblity.

I think if you switched Bam for Towns the Twolves are not winning as much.

Again you're misconstruing player value with skill set. Towns skill set allows him to be at the forefront of a middling team. Bam's skill set is more championship oriented, but is clearly a #2. Towns has been in the league for 7 seasons now and has nothing to show for it. So to be honest he's a looter in a riot right now.

Both are suited to a #2 player, it's just what they bring to the table that differs. It's the Kevin Love/Draymond Green argument all over again when they were both in their primes as #3's on a team.

Towns know very little about winning if we are being honest

I just think Towns is better and with the teammates he has had this is what he has had to be. He is basically willing on his own- a team with a very very medicore roster beside a 20 year old shooting guard to .500 in the west, over .500 when he actually plays. I dont think Bam would be capable of that. I think he is kind of quiet and non aggressive

Towns is more skilled offensively when it comes scoring. Bam does everything else better or equal. Similar on rebounds while Bam is a better passer and defender

If you put KAT on the Heat he would quit like a bitch when Jimmy Butler challenged him to play defense. That's not even a projection. That already happened.
