So last week Dipoto said he had spoken to every non W.S. team and names have been exchanged and deals were going to happen and right away around the league including with him. So????
Well they better start ASAP before the work stoppage. Is there a firm deadline for that? It was brought up on the podcast today that hopefully the new CBA gets done and we can lock up Crawford for 5 years. With that done Bryant might not be the best option, it would be to deal for Chapman and hope Marte takes big strides at 3B next year. Semian is number 1, 3B via FA or trade is number 2. C number 3 and starters and bullpen help number 4. I know having a FA OF would be solid but I don’t think one would even want to come here without a legit mega contract because from the moment he signs he will be the 5th OF going into next spring.

Dec 1: The collective bargaining agreement expires at 11:59 p.m. ET on Dec. 1, and calling this the most important day of the offseason is not hyperbole. Either MLB and the MLBPA will agree to a new CBA by this date, or they won't, and the sport will have its first work stoppage since the 1994-95 strike.

I know having a FA OF would be solid but I don’t think one would even want to come here without a legit mega contract because from the moment he signs he will be the 5th OF going into next spring.
It sounds like they want the guy from Japan and the estimate is 3/$21. He is a RF so that will be interesting with Haniger.

At this point in my Mariners life, I am done picking best options and just hoping they actually spend on several players.

the big one is lewis.....??????????
if they sign.....Bryan Reynolds 10../...Cf....then..it prob means fraley or trammel ltraded...
as i said before,,,they could still use/Kyle Schwarber....L/L...and he playes LF as well..

Some guys you mention here that I like as well.

Marte would definitely be a decent stop gap option until we know for sure Julio is sticking.

Also Mahle is someone I wanted us to check in on at the deadline last year and now it seems certain the Reds will try and move him. However he is more a middle of the rotation guy so if we lets saw resign Anderson, then maybe I'd prefer us to aim a little higher on another pitcher

yeah.....he is good.......mahle..14-6......but we have flexen....gilbert and dunn....but if you can get him in fantasy...i would.......i was shy about 4 starters last time....i wont make that mistake again...it cost me the championship......but...heck....im a rookie at that.....lololol

Well it would be very baseball to have a work stoppage right after the highest rated World Series in forever.

I had never heard of the Japan dude until Drayer was talking about him. They way she makes it sound is that he would be a solid 4th OF because he can play all 3 but she said he is much better at the COF’s. No idea, never seen or even heard of him so I can’t give an opinion.

Was it the highest rated in some time? I just saw (posted) how it compared to other championships and didn't realize that was a good number. Cool if true. All I watched was the final 3 outs just to see Astros cry.

I have no idea about him either but sounds like he is pretty talented. I never heard of ichiro before 2001 either so let us hope.

I thought I saw where it was the 2nd highest rated pro championship this year? Maybe not but I know it the first time I think ever that every dude at work was talking about the World Series. It seemed a lot none baseball fans viewed this series.

No idea on the guy at all. Just the way I took Drayer talking about him is his ceiling is a serviceable starter. But she also said evidently the plans are for Julio to move to CF.

Ya that was my post. Super Bowl was 91.5M and WS was 2nd at 11.8M.

I looked up the WS ratings. Last year was the worst (looked back to 1980) and this year was better than last year but the second worst since 1980 which again was as far as I looked back on. And as a comparison, 1980 was 42.3M to 11.8M this year.

But she also said evidently the plans are for Julio to move to CF.
Oh no that doesn't sound right. She must have been on one of her drinking binges when she wrote that.
